Ever had that noise like something's hitting metal to metal by your feet when accelerating?
Chances are the 4wd shifter is hitting its metal bracket.
Tools/parts needed:
-10mm socket
-scissors
-door edge protection(trim) available in black or chrome at your local parts store. (sticky ones)
-(*) !optional!: a small hand saw
1) Remove center console
2) (*) cut away the shifter stoper/guide.
3) Clean surfaces of bracket and shifter....
4)add perfect length of door trim to -left-inside of bracket....moving shifter up/down makes things easier...
5) apply pressure to trim(using shifter helps) so its fully sticked on...superglue might help although I didn't use any.
EDIT: Add your favorite lubricant along trim where shifter rubs...it makes things 10 times better. no joke:cool:
6) Move shifter up and down at least 10 times to make sure it won't come off...
7) re-install ur junk, including all bubblegum wrappers and gas receipts if u took those out.:p
In 2wd the shifter shouldn't move side to side....
Problem fixed!!!:D
