We had a fun day. 2 XJ's, 1 TJ, 3 YJ's and a CJ. We ended up running
the wash up to the first couple of obstacles in Lower Ajax. Is it
just me, or are these trails getting easier??
It sure will be nice when it cools off............

Yahoo goes through difficulties sometimes. Occasionally there have been
major delay in messages posting. I have seen messages post months later
sometimes. The time now is 12:16pm on sept 17. Lets see how long the
delay is now.
Also it is probably due to the FBI and CIA scanning all Internet traffic
for terrorist activity. :)

Hey everyone,
A few weeks ago I posted that I was having problems with the A/C coming out only my defrost vent and serval people told me to check my vacuum line. I did and that's what it was. So on Saturday I went cut a piece of the vacuum line off so that I could make sure that I got the right size. So I headed to Auto Zone, Napa, Pep Boys, Lopers, and Home depot and none of those places had the vacuum line small enough. I was hoping that someone could tell me where I could get that size of line. TIA

Subject: [OT]Tragedy in Arizona...
Over the weekend as many of you may have heard a gentleman of Indian
heritage was shot and killed by a moron who mistook him for a person of
Arabian descent. This man did nothing to the moron. The moron simply
decided that he would take matters into his own hands and shoot at people he
thought we somehow connected to the terrorist acts last week.
With no facts, no history of any of the people he shot at nor the person he
killed, he became no better a person than the terrorists he was mad at.
Another innocent person had to die. According to the morons thought process
all Arizonans should start looking over their shoulders, when is some
bonehead going to think we are all the same and start shooting us?
The reason I bring this up is mostly to vent. At work today I had a chance
to talk to a co-worker, he sits in the cube across the aisle. We talk
usually a few times this week. He is also from India heritage. He knew the
person who died this past weekend. I gave my condolences as they were very
good friends, he almost shed a tear while we were talking. He then talked
about he and his family, they were going to make their weekly trek out to
shop as a family. Then his wife said no. She was affraid that they too
might be mistaken for someone of Arabic background. After a long
discussion, and many fears raised, they decided it would be better to stay
home. He and his family became prisoners without even having a trial.
Many of those living here left their country of origin to get a better life.
That includes financially providing for their family as well as removing
them from a hostile government that they do not support. The freedom here
lets them pursue their religious belief without persecution from the
government and pressure to be supportive of a terrorist nation. Isn't that
why your family ancestors came to America?
Unless you are Native American Indian your family migrated from other
countries just as this family did, now their family has to do it with one
less member based on the stupidity of another.
Please, if you hear someone making a comment about shoot first ask questions
later in regards to people walking the street, say something to discourage
them, you may just wind up taking a good citizen, tax paying person from a
family who needs them.
Sorry for the off topic post and the length, if you feel the need by all
means flame me directly, no need to have everyone to have wasted bandwidth.

On the front lower control arm bracket the is on the axle, the little
upside down U where the washer and nut go on, which holds the control arm,
which I think is the cam bolt right? Any way, the U shaped thingy is
wearing out on the front side, and is causing my axle to move forward,
which in turn causes my front end to go out of alignment. Any of you have
any kind of problem like this yet? For those that have replaced their LCA
bracket on the axle, where did you get it? Who did you have do it? I am
pretty sure I can do it myself, but want the info first.
2nd part, for those that have long arm kits, you use the existing bracket
on the axle correct? It just re-locates the frame mounted one with a new
skid\bracket holder, right?
Keith Auble(spelling? sorry), are you running the Rock Krawler long arm
kit? Or just the short arms? I have been looking at the whole kit,
3-link with,long arms.

Hi All,
We just got back from a week in Silverton, CO. Thought we'd pass on some in=
fo for those that might be planning a trip up there in the future.
Do not stay in Silverton and especially at the Triangle Motel. The town is=
not set up to handle four wheelers and the motel is a dive. There is no ma=
rket to stock up on supplies and no facilites to handle any mechanical probl=
em that you may have. Our recommendation is that you stay in Ouray if you g=
o.
The world famous "Black Bear Pass" is more hype than anything else. I have=
a stock TJ with 31" tires and had no problem. We made all the tight switch=
backs with two point turns. There is one spot on the trail, Pucker Point, th=
at gets your attention. It's an off camber to the left down hill turn to th=
e right that may be scary for the faint of heart. I would rate Black Bear n=
o more than a 3.0+ only because of Pucker Point and the sheer drop-offs alon=
g the switchbacks. The rest of the trails in the area are more rocky than a=
nything else and I would not rate any of them over a 2.5. The trails offer =
some nice scenery than what we're used to here i the valley, but they soon a=
ll start to run together and look the same.
We're glad we went but we prefer Moab.

Subject: TJ owners - question

Subject: Silverton, CO
Hi All,
We just got back from a week in Silverton, CO.
Just our .02¢ worth....

Subject: GM 350 and 700R4 tranny for sale
I have the drivetrain from a 96 box truck. It is a fuel injected 350 with
the newer version of the 700R4 tranny. In fact the tranny was replaced by
factory warranty. The engine and all components have 32,000 miles on them.
The tranny has about 10,000. All the components are still in the truck. If
you should decide to purchase you get everything including the remains of
the truck. I pulled the 14 bolt rear out already, sorry.
Price tag is now $2400. You pick it up. Email me if you are interested. I
don't
have the time or money to put it in my jeep.
Patrick
P.S. It also has a working hydraulic liftgate included.
