I agree! I went to Ace on Broadway, 2 different stores, who both had just
received a shipment, and they were gone. All of them. I got a few of the
3X5's but nothing bigger than that. It's sad though, I'm really not seeing
many of the police cars with any type of flag or symbol on them, or many
other cars for that matter. What's up with all that!!?????? COME ON
GUYS/GALS!!! LET'S GET IT DONE!!!! SHOW THEM ALL!!! SHOW THEM WHAT WE'VE
GOT AND WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHOW THEM THE USA IS
#1!!!!! INSIDE AND OUT!!!

Hey gang-
As you may remember from my last post, I recently bought a deep
tranny pan for the auto tranny on my TJ. Special thanks to James for
replying with the instructions for the install. However, as some of
you may know, I am not the most mechanically inclined member in the
group and this appears to be too daunting a task for me to undertake
myself. Would any of you more capable wrenchers be willing to help me
with this install? If not, do any of you know of a shop that would do
it for me without charging me an arm and a leg? TIA

There are no over reactions now Joe. This the first salvo of a long battle.
We are VERY spoiled and naive, that luxury is gone forever.
I new this day would come, just not this soon.

This new reality is not an inconvenience but a trial of our faith, courage
and willingness to do a hard thing for future generations.
The bubble around our country has been popped and it can never be put back
except by unrelenting force and judicious use of power.

Wrong.

There is a suspicious car located in downtown Phoenix and the police haven't
determined whether or not there are any explosives in it.

Most likely, it is an overeaction.

There was a tip or some form of lead given to Phoenix PD that a red
car was going to explode downtown.. so they started checking all
red car's license plates, and found one which was stolen. After
the bomb squad broke into it, they found nothing.. it appears
to have been a big hoax.

Subject: OT: Need body work???

Hi all,

My niece was in an accident last night and wrecked the front end of her 95 Ford Escort. It was a slow speed collision, but the low front end of her car, met the high rear end of a Pathfinder, so the Pathfinders bumper buckled her hood, front grill, etc. Does anyone do body work or have any contacts who do?

Any help or information is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Les,

Where do you live? I live in Chandler & I don't particullarly like

I could probably help next Saturday AM, September 23. I have air

31137 From: Joe W <arizonajeep@h...>
Date: Fri Sep 14, 2001 7:35pm
Subject: Off Topic RE: Car bombs?? What the hell

Ross... I must disagree...

There certainly ARE over reactions:

News agencies reporting bombs in trucks crossing the George Washington
Bridge... when in fact it was an empty truck.

News agencies reporting that three middle eastern men were arrested on a
plane yesterday... with knives and phony pilots licenses... when in fact no
one had a knife and the guy with the phony pilots license was caught on the
concourse.

People reporting car bombs in Phoenix when in fact there were none.

People believing that this is the beginning of WWIII.

These are all examples of over reaction... and I could come up with more if
you need me to.

Yes, we Americans (some of us anyway) are spoiled... some of us are naive...
and these traits (I believe you called them luxuries) are not going to
disappear anytime soon... much less forever.

Americans have learned that we are more vulnerable than we expected...
nothing more... nothing less.

We will attempt to change those things which we feel need to be changed
(airport security for instance). We will make a valiant effort to catch and
destroy the trash who murdered our citizens in New York... and then we will
move on to arguing about such important things as Bill Clinton's sex life
and the importance of guns to the preservation of freedom.

And life in America will go on... with small, not large, changes.

Only the naive have had their bubble burst; the rest of us expected
something like this.

The death of all these people is far from trivial... but life in America (as
we know it) isn't ending for us and the world around us is not going to
change substantially (in the long term).

The same people who are crying about this being the end of America as we
know it are the same people who purchased generators, stocked up on supplies
and water in preparation for January 1st, 2000. I don't hold it against
them because they don't know any better.

You see Ross... it won't take "unrelenting force and judicious use of power"
for America to get back to normal... all it will take is time.

Time.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

Next year on this date, I have scheduled a reminder in my daytimer to remind
you of this conversation... to remind you of just how little things have
changed in America... and finally, to remind you how very short America's
memory is...

Short?

You see Ross... for all the indignation we Americans have over this
incident... for all the self-righteous anger and advocation of "unrelenting
force and judicious use of power" we Americans feel will be necessary for
justice to prevail...

We have forgotten something...

Something important...

We have forgotten that we killed a hundred times as many innocent civilians
than were killed in New York this Tuesday... with the well placed drop of a
nuclear bomb or two in Japan.

How soon we are to cry for justice... how quickly we invoke the name of God
for our causes... and sadly... how quickly that we are to forget that we
have caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians
ourselves.

There is no new reality Ross... no trial of faith or courage... no effect on
future American generations...

There is nothing but our extremely short memories... our ignorant cries
evoking the wrath of God upon the enemies who dare to treat us as we have
treated others...

You see Ross... as we have forgotten... we will soon forget.

It is my fervent hope that true justice be done in this case... that we find
the men who did this and punish them appropriately. It is also my hope that
the Americans who find it within themselves to hate others for what has
happened... those who wish for vengeance and death and destruction... those
who hate because of color of skin, race, or religion... spend a few moments
remembering.

I suspect however, that I hope for too much.

Kind Regards,

Joe West

That's terrible, I have never seen that either. Maybe Joe can explain
that with the old Thermodynamics, on the other board :).
That looks like it broke all at once too. It must have made a hell of
a racket.

Easy there, JW! You *almost* come across in that extremely long
posting as a condescending atheist. Remember, in this country we are
allowed to have our own personal opinions. Or is that something else
that you've forgotten?

This is just an observation. I agree with everything Ross said,
and I agree with you, as well. You see, Joe, it is so very easy for
one to feel torn the situation we are now faced with. Hurt, anger,
fear, numbness, shock, and so very many others. Everyone does,
however, feel exactly the SAME on one issue: we are American, and we
will survive. May God bless America.

I had a front coil break on a 5.0 R/S Capri that I used to have. But
it broke with no incident. I didn't even know till it started
drooping.
