As I'm sure nearly everyone knows, today has been designated as a day of
mourning and prayer....around the world. Bells are ringing, business is
stopping, prayers are being offered from the Ukraine to Korea - nearly
everywhere.
For those in the SE valley, there will be a prayer and memorial service at
the Chandler Center for the Performing Arts (N. Arizona Ave - downtown
Chandler), at 7pm tonight. They will also be collecting for the United Way
Campaigns 9/11 disaster fund (ALL monies to go to aid the victims and their
families).
I'm sure there are similar events planned elsewhere in the Valley.
Make no mistake, the world is a totally different place now. I have friends
that are Muslim, and this event has hit them doubly hard. Now is the time to
appreciate our similarity, rather than our differences.

86 CJ7 with the 258 and stock carter carb.
First time I failed NOX by a hair.
For the second time, I fixed a vacuum leak (and
replaced/checked just about every vacuum hose) and got
the EGR system working and I failed on CO and HC big
time but NOX was down to nothing.
For the third time, I got the 10" and 4" Hg switches
working and failed NOX at 7.8, it should be 4.5, but
HC and CO are now very low.
Any ideas on dropping NOX other then the EGR? Would
turning the timing way down help? I'm ready to just
pay someone to get it to pass and tell me what they
did so I can undo it after it passes. Anyone know a
good shop for this?

Had nothing but good luck with BroncoOne (www.bronco1gps.com). The only
small thing that I wasn't exactly happy about was after I bought all my CB
gear from them and took it home and installed it when I came back to have it
tuned they charged me $7.00 for it. I've never had someone charge me for
tunning a CB after I bought it from them.
As for Apollo Communications I went there while I was shopping around for a
new CB and everytime I went they were closed. After the second time I never
went back. One time they were even closed on a Friday afternoon around 2:00

I bought an antenna there and they were very cool about helping

I think if you look a bit harder you will see that the front is also a D44.
I had a 74 Waggy that I took the D44 out of the front and put it in my CJ7.
The Waggy is an Ideal donor for a front-end swap on a CJ because the pumpkin
on the correct side and the shot side axel is the same width as the wide
track CJ.

I have a chance to get a 73 Waggy for $900. its got a 360, 2bbl, auto,
SOA D30 front and D44 rear and (pass. side pumpkin) new 32x11.5 tires
and shocks. Runs well, no rust. I welcome opinions if this thing is a
worthy beater. I know it wont be a rock crawler, but maybe a good 1st

What is the 'J' designation of this thing?

John,
I've installed the lockrite lockers on both front and
rear of my D30 & D35c and they are still seem to be
working perfectly during off-road conditions even with
my 36"x12.50x15 TSL, as you know. I'd recommend to go

I have heard that before and Detroit will only warranty theirs with tires up
to 33". Lockright does not have a tire limitation on their warranty. I had a
lockright for years with 35" tires when I had my D30 in the front. Never had
a problem but I got tiered of breaking axels so I put a D44 in.

Don't mean to diminish this in any way - it's as applicable now as it
ever was - but this is old. It came out in the 70's. (Notice the
references to the older models of airplanes?) However, what's really
interesting is that, despite our tragedy, we just injected $50 billion
into the EU banking system to help stabilize their economy. I don't
know if there were any ulterior motives in doing this but, on the surface,
it appears that we're stilling doing what the editorial talked about

It surprises me to hear this... I bought a Lockright to go into a Dana 44
I'm swapping into my CJ. I had never heard (or thought) about the max tire
size issue with the LockRight. My CJ7 has the AMC 360 motor, and I have 35"
tires on it. I have had it a little over a year now, and it has had
LockRights front and rear the whole time, with 33" tires originally and the
35" tires for about 8 months, no problems so far...

I am in no way saying don't do it...only voicing my experiences.
Seems as though Powertrax has a dart board that through at to get
responses to people questions, considering everyone has been told
something differrent!
I to run Lockrights F/R, reason being I'm a broke college student,
but won't go wheeling unlocked, put's way to much stress on the
drivetrain.
The only drawback to a detroit is having to have the R&P setup,
whereas the lock-rights in a D30 do have to have the carrier removed,
don't require a new setup, I found the front easier to install than
the rear, because you don't have to deal with the low hanging gas
tank or the c-clips (D35).
My ideal setup (and will be in the future) is an OX up front and a
Detroit in the rear.

Wrong.
There is a suspicious car located in downtown Phoenix and the police haven't
determined whether or not there are any explosives in it.
Most likely, it is an overeaction.

OK,
First off all, I'm sorry for replying to an off-topic post to the
rest of the list...
But, for those of us not sitting in front of a television at work
(and over 100 miles from Phoenix) today... What exactly does "2 car
bombs in Phoenix" mean?
Did two car bombs explode in Phoenix? Did someone call in a threat
that there may POSSIBLY be two car bombs in Phoenix? Did they find 2
car bombs in Phoenix that didn't go off?
When posting something like this, how about giving some details? This
is how rumors (and paranoia) get started.

I think if you look a bit harder you will see that the front is also a D44.
I had a 74 Waggy that I took the D44 out of the front and put it in my CJ7.
The Waggy is an Ideal donor for a front-end swap on a CJ because the pumpkin
on the correct side and the shot side axel is the same width as the wide
track CJ.

I've installed the lockrite lockers on both front and

I have heard that before and Detroit will only warranty theirs with tires up
to 33". Lockright does not have a tire limitation on their warranty. I had a
lockright for years with 35" tires when I had my D30 in the front. Never had
a problem but I got tiered of breaking axels so I put a D44 in.

interesting is that, despite our tragedy, we just injected $50 billion
