Hi Joe....nope, it wasn't me....it was someone else I replied to. Mine is still on there and doing just fine....although, the stock drag link is slowly starting to straighten out at the bend near the passenger side lower sway bar link connection. Might be time to get the new and improved Currie replacement system.

I had an Optima pop out of my battery tray and onto my headers!!!!!! YIKES! Didn't know I had a problem until I noticed the smoke and the strange smell coming from under the hood. Headers completely melted in to one cell of the battery. Damned thing continued to work for a month before finally going bad. I'd say that is pretty good. I'd like to see a "standard" battery accomplish that one. Probably would have been a much u-glier turn out.

Sure I'll bite... I am of course the "punk kid" of the group...
Then I will gladly trade you for my scout! I have non vacuum assisted brakes
(since my definition of manual brakes involves pulleys and cables) manual
steering, manual clutch, manual tranny, manual hubs (good thing), manual
windows and door locks (wahhh I know) I would trade for one of these "cushy"
TJ's anyday... Wait a minute NAAAAAHHH I like it this way! Call me a
masochist if you will but it sure is fun and I promise you I get more
looks:)

I had a similar situation when I was 16 with my POS CJ-5. The
battery tipped over, burned the insulation off the hot lead, arced
across the fender and the emissions air line, which created a shower
of sparks, smoke, and caused my Jeep to quit running right in front
of my classmates as i arrived at school in the morning. Jeeps, gotta
love 'em...

Why would you (or whoever) want to sell this beautiful rig????????? And
for only $7,500. By this point, so much time and effert has been put
into it, it seems like it would be priceless to the owner. I'd buy it
if I had $7,500!!!!

I just found out I have a neice that lives in NYC. She is my sister-
in-laws daughter, and I never met her. She goes to college 2 BLOCKS
away from the former trade building. I just found out she is ok, and
she really had no clue what was happening until she got the call from
my sister-in-law. She was getting ready for class at her apartment,
when her mom explained what was happening. She looked out the window
and watched everything! I won't be suprised if she saw them
collapse. I am just glad to know she is ok. I hope the rest
of "our" Jeep clubs families are ok too.

Tom, you must have seen my old Jeep.
My '67 CJ-6 has: No hard top, no soft top, no bikini top, no doors, no roll bar, no A/C, no heater, no defroster, no rear bumper, no emergency brake, no winch, no windshield wipers, no flares, no power steering, no power brakes, no auto canceling turn signals, no glove box, no gas pedal (just a rod sticking out of the floor) and not even a horn.
Yes, it runs. I even drove it to work once. And it is not a stripped Jeep. It never had a top, doors, a/c, heater, emergency brake, flares, and not even a horn, right from the factory.
If I score 1 point for each no, I get a total score of 19. 20 if I count each wiper motor without wiring or a wiper arm separately. A manly score indeed!
>>> Tom LaFrance 9/11/01 7:18:56 AM >>>
Now, in order to complete the "manly" profile, you MUST have manual
brakes, manual steering, NO air conditioning, no heat, no doors and no
wussy hard top :p

Hey I am not going to be able to do any runs this weekend on the account of

Subject: GIVE BLOOD
I just posted the below to SAR and EM lists. I think it is just as
appropriate for all lists. So I've taken the liberty to post this to all
list that I subscribe to. Please pass this along to other lists.
Everyone should go out and give blood. The national telephone number to
locate your closest blood bank is: 1 888 256 6388
Thanks.

What you can do now is GIVE BLOOD. There is a national blood shortage which
may be greatly exacerbated by today's events.

There is one on 7th street and osborn, I think, and also one in
downtown Scottsdale,(James won't be going to that one;)). They are
extremely busy, and recommend waiting a day or two before going in.
They will need blood for several weeks, so if you don't get in today,
please go with in the week. This was heard on KZON 101.5, they were
talking with one of the directors of the blood center. They are
planning to open a center overnight in the east valley for us east
siders....Not sure bout the west side though. I can't recall the
name....anyone know the major one here in az?

I had a similar situation when I was 16 with my POS CJ-5. The
battery tipped over, burned the insulation off the hot lead, arced
across the fender and the emissions air line, which created a shower
of sparks, smoke, and caused my Jeep to quit running right in front
of my classmates as i arrived at school in the morning. Jeeps, gotta
love 'em...

the smoke and the strange smell coming from under the hood. Headers
completely melted in to one cell of the battery. Damned thing
continued to work for a month before finally going bad. I'd say that
is pretty good. I'd like to see a "standard" battery accomplish that
one. Probably would have been a much u-glier turn out.

Why would you (or whoever) want to sell this beautiful rig????????? And
for only $7,500. By this point, so much time and effert has been put
into it, it seems like it would be priceless to the owner. I'd buy it
if I had $7,500!!!!

it for around a Year to get it to where it is, Im sure that D60 front and
rear 1/4 were on the trail twice during the last months but no more, what a

>>> Tom LaFrance 9/11/01 7:18:56 AM >>>
Now, in order to complete the "manly" profile, you MUST have manual
brakes, manual steering, NO air conditioning, no heat, no doors and no
wussy hard top :p

Subject: GIVE BLOOD
I just posted the below to SAR and EM lists. I think it is just as
appropriate for all lists. So I've taken the liberty to post this to all
list that I subscribe to. Please pass this along to other lists.
Everyone should go out and give blood. The national telephone number to
locate your closest blood bank is: 1 888 256 6388
Thanks.

do but watch the news and wait.

I saw on the news at lunch time that local centers are planning to
have extended hours. But they didn't say what those hours would be.
