Hey Huck, me too. But I'm actually going to the East side of SD first so I can ride out with the 'rents and relatives.

Great pics and writeup, Tom. My brother keeps telling me to sell the CJ and buy a Harley (he's got a 66 panhead). Maybe when I get tired of the rocks :)

Matt,
No reason to sell the CJ, just buy the Harley. I've got three Harleys and we've got 3 Jeeps at the house, too. There's always room for toys. The trick is not to sell them after you buy them. they start adding up after a while and then before you know it, you've toys for the rocks and two wheelers for the road, too.....:D
By the way, I love my Panhead, but a 66 should be a Pan/Shovel. The last year of the Panhead was 65. They switched to the Shovelhead in 66 and most 66's had the Panhead bottom end because of over stock. So, 66's are commonly called Pan/Shovels for that reason. I've built many older scooters and have a ton of this silly knowledge (know more about old Harleys than I do Jeeps, if you can imagine that). Give a shout out to your brother, as I'm all about the old scooters.
