Anybody else been?
Went up there last weekend 7/8. It was HOT untill you got to the top. There was a bright sun and the breeze was cool. I brought an umbrella to stay in the shade. I will return there with plans to hike to the spring and look for the mine. At the following link you will find some info.

The ten mile drive up is bumpy so air down for smoothness not traction as the road is not difficult.
The border of the wilderness area is at the top so do not enter it in a Jeep.

Very cool little get away. I've got some great pics of the views and the drives. I want to check out some of the little spur trails the next time I go out there. I really liked the history of the observatory and what is left of the old building.

If you want pics, I'll get them for you later next week unless I end up not going back east for a few days.

You also might want to search my name and see what cones up. Not sure if the pics will still work as it's been about 2 years since I've been that way.
