Has anyone run the Walnut canyon trail near florence recently? I'm wanting to run that trail in September and I was wondering if there were any recent access or washout issues.
Thanks!

It's probably been since fall since I've ran it. It's not much of a "trail" but it's definately a gorgeous ride through the desert. Remember where we crossed the Gila that one time ? Well just keep heading east and you be on that trail (I've always known it as battleaxe). The only part to be concerned about is crossing the river. If you come in from Superior and can't cross the river, you can go out through box canyon. Someone has a water flows link, but I keep losing it, do a quick search.

I think you'd enjoy it Vern.

Thanks for the updates!
I remember running the coke ovens trail with you Rich, that was a fun day. I'll check out my maps and books to plot a run, it sounds like a fun trail. I've not heard a trail rating but it doesn't sound too tough.
