Santa left me the 8000# winch off his sleigh and I need to mount it to the front of my CJ. Is it common to mount the winch slightly offset to one side or the other (to clear solenoid box) instead of dead centered on the bumper?

I bought a winch plate for my YJ and it ended up centered. Are you planning to build your own mounting plate?

That winch was left at your house by mistake, it was supposed to be delivered to Tucson. I'm not mad, but please forward to me as soon as possible.
Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation! Enjoy!!:D

I know for a FACT that you were Naughty and not nice this year... you must give the winch back to Santa
Santa is dropping by my home on Tuesday... you can bring it here tomorrow and I'll make sure he gets it.

Tom....when I mounted my winch on my CJ, I had 2 brackets made that raised the winch plate about an inch of the steering unit....then mounted the plate to the bracket.....worked quite well......heres a couple pics....
