I see recovery straps in 20ft and 30 ft with widths of 2inch or 3inch.
What's the most popular/useful strap to have for trail use?

One nice thing about the 2" width straps, is that they fit inside
a common 2" hitch receiver - all you need is the receiver pin to
hold the strap in.

My ACE hardware had everything I needed (and then some).
Unfortunately, a drive to 22nd and Kolb in Tucson may not be in your
game plan, but if you've got an ACE nearby, you might wanna check
there. Look for pressure switches made by Square D. I think I've seen
them at Home Depot as well down here.

This is the typical black metal trail rack seen all over the place that usually runs around $150. It bolts to the rear door and can hold gas cans too. I won't be using it on my 93 YJ as it interferes with the opening of the hardtop. Needs one of those removable pins. I'll pull the mounting hardware off for you.
Will consider part trade for set of five 31" or 30" offroad tires in good shape.

Also, if you still can't find what you're looking for, Brad Kilby has
just about anything you need as well (but his prices were a little
more than what I saw in the stores).
http://www.onboardair.com
And, if you haven't done so already... be sure to buy some high
temperature rated hose for anything you put under the hood,
especially for stuff close to the compressor. The air that comes out
of the York is HOT. Initially, I had some of the regular Home Depot
type orange hose under there. It wasn't rubber, in fact I believe it
was just some type of thermoplastic. Anyway, it didn't hold up too
well under there. I don't know how many times I've blown holes in
that hose. I picked up some blue Aeroquip high temp hose (I believe
it's rated at 350*F) and haven't had a problem since. It's a bit more
expensive (it runs about $1 a foot or so), but it's better than
having no air when you need it. I know there's a distributor in
Tucson, but you'll have to check http://www.aeroquip.com for one in
the Phoenix area.

Subject: OHV Park
This is just an idea, and maybe a stupid one.
As I was driving along the 202 east today, I was remembering being able to
run through the river bottom. I noticed further that there are some stair
steps in the river bottom just west of McClintock.
Now I have never been in favor of OHV park but, if somebody was to put one
in the river bottom it might be kind of neat. The dirt bikers and quads
could use it, it if went for a distance. You wouldn't have to worry about
big boulder (obstacles) being washed down the river when it runs. In
addition, it would look more natural than a flat piece of reconstructed
river bottom they have constructed.
I don't think you would get much support for this in Tempe, but maybe Mesa
(they may not have a part of the bed) or the planned reconstruct in Phoenix.
Well that's my idea. If you know anybody willing to take on such a project
then please through this their way.

Hello All!
I have a 90 YJ with a Dick Cepek 3 1/2 inch spring lift. (4 years old) I noticed my Jeep pulling to the right and under compression my right front tire will hit my fender before my left does. I took some measurements and my axle is 1 inch further back on the right side. Could spring sag cause this? Or do I have to look further?
Thanks,

For the SWB Jeeps, it seems that a 30'x2" strap is pretty popular. I've

It's time to start adding equipment.........
I see recovery straps in 20ft and 30 ft with widths of 2inch or 3inch.
What's the most popular/useful strap to have for trail use?
TIA,

One nice thing about the 2" width straps, is that they fit inside
a common 2" hitch receiver - all you need is the receiver pin to
hold the strap in.

Any ideas?

I buy from Grainger in Tempe. They just ask me if I'm a business & then
charge me more when I say no. Just look up the part number at

See pix of it on the web:

Subject: Spring sag question
Thanks,
Marc
