Hi Gang,
I have a bunch of TJ stuff that I'd like to get rid of and I imagine that there are a BUNCH of folks just like me with factory parts, removed accessories, suspension upgrade parts, etc.
On Saturday, July 29th I will be setting up tables at my home, in my yard (I have a relatively large front yard) with all the Jeep parts I have that I'd like to sell. If anyone wants to participate, respond to this thread... bring a table for your stuff and show up on July 29th. MAKE SURE you respond to this thread so I know how many people will be showing up.
If you want to get good prices on stuff (I'll have stuff I'll be giving away for free), mark your calendars. I'll put this on the forum calendar as well.

Joe, count Frenchchili and me in.
A suggestion for the future; why not have one of the local 4x4 shops sponsor the AZVJC swap meet. I know our sponsors speak for themselves but I think they could also benefit from it. Each shop could take turns sponsoring the AZVJC swap meet. Just a thought.

Yahoo Maps gives a good map to my home:

Mesa, Arizona 85204
I'll be setting up around 7am... you can arrive then or anytime after. First people who show up will have covered space under my porch... later folks will need to bring their own shade if they need it.
I wonder if I could convince our sponsors to post some flyers at their businesses?
Anyone interested in putting a flyer together?
Remember to bring a cooler and lots to drink... it may be hot out :)

I would love to host this...
I may get evicted, but what the heck...
I am near I-17 and SR-101 in North Phoenix.
I will even provide a BBQ if you want, with drinks...
I have a few parts myself I wouldn't mind getting out of here.
Our company was born and raised on the AZVJC, and we are still learning and supporting...
If not, maybe I'll be able to come out and support at your place...but if it get's too big, let me know.
Thanks!

Ouch...just thinking about that hurts...fortunately, my wife and I have a great relationship...she complains a bit about the "junkyard" feel of our back yard, but she never forces me to get rid of stuff...in fact, I am picking up a CJ7 tub to add to my collection tomorrow morning!! :D

It depends on how many folks show up... but I suspect we'll be okay... for now anyway. By the way... ANY AND ALL sponsors are welcome to show up and sell stuff if they wish. I'd love to see my entire front yard and cul-de-sac filled with tables and stuff for sale! I'm hoping that a bunch of people walk out with some good stuff.

By the way... a few things to remember:
1. Bring a table for your stuff
2. Bring some shade if you have it
3. Bring plenty to drink... beer is fine but getting drunk is not.
4. I'll be selling decals to those who want them. I just got in another order
5. If you want to sponsor the forum... you can do so at the swap-meet
IF this thing gets too big... I'll try to set something up at one of our sponsors next year or in six months. Perhaps we can rotate it among sponsors? Anyway... Max posted first so they will get first shot at the next one if everyone likes this one.
PLEASE PLEASE... PARK along the street that runs up to and on the sides of my cul-de-sac. Use the actual cul-de-sac for loading and unloading only (you know... like the white zone at the airport).

The stuff I plan on bringing won't fit on a table (Eaton axle and a YJ hard top)...I guess I'll park where i can and sit there with a couple signs stating what I have to sell and if anyone is interested, they can walk to my Jeep with me to see it! Hopefully I can get close to your yard so I'm not having to walk a half mile each time.
What the earliest you want people showing up at your place?

More details...
I'll have name badges on a table on my veranda... please write your real first name and your forum "screen name" on the badge and wear it if you want people to know who you are.
When you arrive, drive into my cul-de-sac (don't block anyone else who may be unloading), quickly set up your table, unload your stuff, and then drive out of the cul-de-sac and park along the long street that runs up to my cul-de-sac. Do not park in the cul-de-sac.
Remember that heavy items can be left in your vehicle and you can simply put a sign on your table saying what you have... people can walk to your vehicle if they are interested.
Remember to bring some paper/tape/magic marker to mark your items. If you are willing to trade items... let people know.
If you are a buyer and not a seller, park along the street that runs up to my cul-de-sac.
I'll have quite a few "free" things... please... don't take something for free and then turn around and try to sell it. If you take something for free... it means you plan on using it. If you don't plan to use a free item; please... be considerate and don't take it.
See ya tomorrow.
Joe

This is a great idea. All I have that I could sell or trade is 1 new BFG A/T 31x10.5 on a rim that probably won't fit a Jeep and a used Hi-Lift jack. But I want to be a shopper more than a seller! Is that ok? :D ...I'll be there in just a little while.

AAAAAAAAA a bunch of people were missing!!!!
Other than that it was fun!:D and humid:eek:
---and I'm sunfried....
Down the street someone had a yard sale and a sign to atract people but at least 20(?) random cars drove by the swap meet and turned around when they saw what we had wouldn't fit on their mallriders. A few did stop to look around. It was nice to see familiar faces and meet more people.
Thanks again Joe for hosting this!

You forgot the pics of the 12 Hooters girls giving out free Warn Winches to everybody who attended. Man, you guys missed a good yardsale!

Thanks for everyone who stopped by... I had a great time chatting and meeting some new members and seeing the regular faces.
I'll be setting up the next swap meet in a couple of months when it is cooler and I'll try to get one of our sponsors to provide some parking lot space.
Thanks again gang... I had a blast and once again my belief that Jeepers in genaral and the AZVJC specifically, are some of the best damn people on the face of the earth.

Yea that was a shame some many missed that. I didn't get a Warn winch since they had given them all away by then, so two of the Hooters girls ended up giving me a even better prize...who needs a Warn winch:D
