Has anyone made one? Someone told me that a trussed AMC with 1 piece shafts is as strong as a dana 44. Ive seen people just weld the axle tubes to the center section, but im afraid of warping the tubes. Any ideas?

The AMC 20 is a good strong rear if you replace the two-piece axles. The tubes are thinner walled than a 44, but unless you're jumping it or really pounding on it, it's non-issue. The R&P is larger than a 44, so that's an advantage.
I ran mine for many years with 4.56/Detroit and a Warn full float kit. A truss would certainly make it even stronger.

I do custom trusses for the AMC 20 all the time. I build them so there is no loss of ground clearance. If you build the AMC20 with one piece axles and truss it they are a very strong unit.
