Is there a trail...

Looking for a way EAST from the coves at Suagaro Lake.

USGS has a "jeep trail" but it looks at some point like it turns into a hiking trail.

General Idea is to come out at lake Roosevelt.

You can run out east from the coves thru the Cottonwood ranch accross to the four peaks road and over the top . I would take 2 lunches or a kidney belt but you can do it . Don't take the road east from the Cottonwood ranch area or you will be in for a very long day since you will end up somewhere between peaks 3 and 4 .

I see cottonwood Creek running north... cane spring branching off east, then Cotton Wood Camp farther north... is this the area your talking about ?

Cottonwood ranch is just n. of Saguaro lake , you would normally come in off the 4Peaks rd. and at the Y take the right instead of left up the mountain . The wash runs right down the canyon to Sandy beach .The ranch will not be on most maps and it was just a simple ranch house next to the creek .

As a crow flies yes it's pretty close , the road out of cove 4 takes you up on top towards the beeline and then drop down to your left .Take that till the first right and follow down stream till you hit the creek , the ranch is on the left and you follow it around up the hill and out to the 4-peaks split .
