The Ghost Towners forum is pretty good, although once in a while some weirdo slips in claiming to communicate with the spirits  (Twilight Zone music playing)

Thanks for the link. I did a fair amount of reading over there. I grew up in the back of an old Bronco, checking out some of Arizona's best ghost towns... I would love to do a ghost town run. John

When we moved back here in 1980 we did alot of exploring for the ghost towns using the books of the time. Had alot of fun reading about them then going there. I have gone back to some of them recently and there is nothing left of most of them, are they any left? Don

Most of what we're finding in our area (Tonto Nat'l Forest, Salome Wilderness & Sierra Anchas) are the remains of small mining camps. Just the remnants of a few buildings, some mine shafts and various mining equipment laying scattered around. Unfortunately. vandals have pretty much stripped these places so it's pretty tough to get an idea of what must have gone on there.
We've also found some old ranch sites scattered around the Greenback Valley area and in the areas surrounding Roosevelt Lake. We haven't found anything that we'd qualify as a real ghost town. I'm afraid a lot of them out this way lie somewhere beneath Roosevelt Lake.
