Anybody know if a portable compressor, Viair 440P, can be hardmounted? And if so, I'd ike to use a power switch in the dash near the locker switch. Any recommedation on a type of switch?

Check out www.stu-offroad.com for a writeup. I know he has one hard mounted in the back.

I have that website memorized, but I'm not sure if his compressor was a portable or hardmount to begin with...

Anything can be mounted. You should operate the compressor via a standard automotive relay. That keeps current low at the switch and high current outside the cabin for safety. Usually 30 amps should do the trick but check for your applciation to be sure.

I have the same air compressor and was thinking about doing the same thing. Give us the scoop on it when you do it.

I have the HF one mounted on the passenger side wheel well as I already had a 800 watt inverter there. I ran a air line straight out the back from it to just above the taillight. Airs all 4 tires up from 8-10 lbs to 30 without over heating.

I put mine where the air box once lived and ran a standard rocker switch to a 40A fuse to switch the power.
