View Full Version : My XJ runs like POOP

1st) Earlier this week my 98 XJ 4.0 would stumble while sitting at the light. It was hit & miss, it would maybe do this twice in a day.

2nd) On my way to Frenchy's house for the White Tanks Meeting, the XJ wouldnt stop stumbling while sitting at a light. :confused: THEN it wouldnt accelerate properly, just sputtered and then gathered speed.

3rd) I went to get on the freeway and the check engine light came on.

4th) Auto-Zone gave me a CODE of P0304 (CYL.# 4 Miss-fire) :rolleyes:

Any Ideas? I'm gonna pull the plugs right now.

Geno,

My TJ did that once! I would check for water in the oil... When mine did it, it turned out to be a blown head gasket! Good luck, and let me know if ya need a hand!

Ya but yers is a 4 pooper :D

Looks like #4 plug is a little low on electrode :rolleyes:
Or shall I say ALOT LOW :eek:

I thought I changed them about 10k ago. Must have been one of the other 3 JEEPS that I changed..

Hey now! No comments about the mighty 4 maniacs! They will be up and going again soon! After I finish this round of mods, the maniacs get the next... they are being upgraded to 4 roided out monkeys... maybe they will have a few balls then!!

I cant belive ALL 6 CYL's didnt trip a miss-fire code :eek:

40+k miles on em, :rolleyes: what a bonehead. I need a frickin maintenace reminder schedule for all these JEEPS!

Ya don't need spark plugs with that kind of memory.

Get a diesel:D
