Just wondering how one gets to the top? Are cars allowed to drive all the way up? If not, how long is the walk? Does the operator allow you a visit on the towers? Etc...

The gate is usually closed and it's about 1/2 mile to the top. I would take some water if you plan on walking up on top , the rangers vary but most of the time the small sign across the stairwell is unlatched so that you can go up. It is one of the best veiws if you are up there just after heavy winds so that all the muck in the air is gone .
