Camp Creek Wash

Trail Raiting: 2.0

Camp Creek Wash connects Bartlett Lake Rd. to Rio Verde and is a highly driven trail by recreational OHV users including quads, dirt bikes and full sized vehicles. It is part of "The Great Western Trail". Be very cautious of oncoming traffic in this area as some blind curves can provide for hair raising moments when reckless drivers can come careening your way. The trail is unmaintained by the forest service but the frequent flooding keeps the sandy wash free of debris for the most part. This wash serves as the starting point for several more difficult trails that can be seen on Topo and Forest Service maps.

As you can see this is a high traffic area. These pictures display the Bartlett Lake Road entrance to the trail.

This trail is more like a system of trails with several of them forking apart and then rejoining. As long as you stay in the wash you can be pretty sure you're heading in the right direction. All of the trails that are accessed from the wash are well marked by the Forest Service.

At the Rio Verde entrance to the trail it is displayed that the trail is only intended for 4x4 vehicles, this sign is disregarded by multitudes.

The Rio Verde side of the trail offers access to the Verde River directly adjacent to the trail entrance. This picture displays the entrance to the Rio Verde end of the trail.
