Today I went up to Humboldt Mountain, never been up there. When we got to the top the guy in the usfs fire tower invited us up to have a look and showed us how he does his job, he was very friendly. Awesome views.. would recommend to anyone.

Any pics? Where is Humbolt Mountain? Is it easy, moderate, hard?

no pics, my camera batteries were dead. Its an easy trip mostly paved, only an hour from my house in North Phoenix. There is a big white ball on top next to the lookout tower, which is the nextrad site for albuquerque center air traffic control center. We spent about 45 min talking with the usfs guy.. he showed us where all the other fire towers in the area were through his spotting scope.. He said he love visitors, I think he likes the company.. must be lonley.. he is up there 5 days a week from 8 - 6 and stay there on the weekends in a travel trailed parked at the bottom.

I've seen this many times up on the mountain to your right as you go out to Seven Springs. I just never knew how to get up there. Do you turn on Bartlett Dam Road or continue on Cave Creek Road towards Seven Springs, or what?
How do you get there exactly?
Thanks.

Its on the way to seven springs, the turnoff is about 3 miles prior to seven springs. Its a narrow paved road on the north side. cant miss it.

I went up there in the last snow/rain we had.
The seven springs road was rainy and mud, and the road up to the top was in the clouds snowing at the top

My family used to camp up there in the 70s. There are indian ruins right under the tower and they used to pick up pottery shards before people knew better and before it became illegal. Great place!
