It's official. I am going to San Deigo for the weekend if it kills me. I don't know a soul out there, I am going alone, and I have no idea how to get there.
I don't even have a hotel planned on a holiday weekend! Ha!
I'm picking up a map in the am and lolagaging my way west to see the ocean.
I'll run into it at some point.
Just need to get away and say muck it all!
Have fun with all of your weekend trails, and I'll c-ya all when I get back.
No idea when that will happen either.

As far as how to get there...
I-17south to I-10 west, Az 85 South to I-8... (Pause here to marvel at the wonder that is Gila Bend...:rolleyes: ) I-8 all the way into San Diego.

Not trying to scare you, but I had punched in a few dates for San Diego this weekend as well. The hotels were slim and about $150 a night. I checked some campgrounds as well, you guessed it, nothing Saturday night.

Good Luck, we are going camping near Safford.

Don't expect very much sunshine in San Diego this weekend--all of the SoCal beaches will be fogged in. After you've dipped your toes in the cold Pacific (it's COLD), you might want to try the High Desert Roundup near Barstow:

Hey Russ, is that body damage in your avatar? I haven't seen your rig since Raw Deal after the trail 101 workshop last year... have any more pics and a description of what happened?

MikeI was on a dirt road at Big Bear Lake in March, and this tree jumped out onto the trail and smacked my hood and broke my windshield!!!! :D

I knew it was only a matter of time before those tree huggers trained themselves some attack killer trees... :eek: :D
