I'd like to take a stab at Squeeze Rock early some Saturday or Sunday morning (like 6-ish to beat the heat). If anyone is interested let me know. We'll need at least one person who knows the lines etc as I've never run it before.

Has anyone been through Squeeze Rock recently? How are the water levels? I would think very low.
I ran this trail back in January and it was tough because of the water. Water makes it much more difficult. If theres a lot of water, I'd recommend 33's and a locker.
I'd be up for running it if we can get at least a handful of capable rigs to come along. This trail can be completed in 3-6 hours depending on water and equipment. That would be enough to beat the heat and be done before noon.

I was through there a month or so ago and the water in the pond at the back was BARELY up to the bottom of the rocker. Little pools were around but im gonna think it would be fairly dry. If i can get my cage in this week ill be there! FlexinXJ and i ran through it in less than 30 minutes but if we get a few it could take a bit longer especially if we all have to get out and admire Longbow as he takes the hard lines :D

I ran it last month and it is as easy as ever , BUT I would say 33's and a locker of some sort unless you plan on some rocker damage and or winching .If you have time take the short cut and run it down stream and then if you feel you want more of a challenge turn around and try upsteam .
What area is this trail located?

Lower Sycamore which is 1 mile north of the bush highway / beeline(87) interchange . you exit at the Sugarloaf Mtn / 4 peaks road.

HA!!! I've seen some of the hard lines on this trail
Zman - This trail is part of Sycamore Creek and is located off the 87 a few miles north of Fort Mcdowell Casino.
I'd like to go run it sometime over Memorial Day weekend. Night run sounds good.

Tentative on this one.
I got an invite to run some trails in Las Cruces including a new one that looks totally radical. But I don't think I can make it happen.
I actually prefer the day since I don't care about the temperature one way or the other but will run whatever, whenever more or less. :D

I went in through lower sycamore about two weeks ago, through squeeze rock and into the trail just about 20 yards. Walked up it a ways to scout a little. The water was low as far as I went which was only about 100 to 200 yards.
I'd like to run it in the day so I can see what lines we are taking etc for future runs. No AC in YJunk so it would be nice if we were out of there by 10 or so... If we can run it in an hour or so that would be sweet
I'm not worried about the body damange but, if the water is high I'm probably going to have to back out. No inner fender wells have made the YJ a little sensative to the moisture. If its dry, though, I'm more the willing to bump and grind my way through.

I'll be coming from tempe so I'll probably have to meet at 87 and the trail head. I'd like to be on the trail head between six and six-thirty and at the trail around seven. We should decide if we are going to enter through lower and work our way up or at sugar loaf and work our way down.
If the run takes three hours that will get us through it around 10; if its not too hot we can play some more, but if its getting warm it will give us chance to bail when its still tollerable.
If we do go top to bottom, I'd like to spin around and run a little of it the other way, depending on time.
All of this will also depend on having someone with us that knows the trail.

I checked the weather report and right now its calling for high's in the mid 90's this weekend. This could easily change. I don't want to get up ridiculously early.
If the weather is pleasant, could we meet up a little later? I'm thinking meet at Bush Hwy/87 around 7am and pull out at 7:30? And we'll run Squeeze Rock from south to north. We'll be done before noon and that's with taking our time and having some fun. We can run something else if anyone is up for it.

That wouldn't by any chance be War Path in Las Cruces? I've seen pics of that trail and it looks like a fun time. With obstacle names like Habanero Falls, Patzacarro's Revenge and Rocotillo Rapids, it definitely sounds interesting.

Hello everybody, I'm new at this but looking forward to trailing with you all! I have a 2006 jeep v6 33's terraflex 3inch lift with quick disconnects 1500miles only some surface scratches on the sides, and some throbs(tires) rippage already from off-roading on Sat May 20th at box canyon, then cochran coke ovens then we got lost and ended up on telegragh trail exiting at Superior trail ratings were 5 thru 7 no undercarriage damage or body damage.

You can go around the rocks after the pond but you can count on spending a few minutes negotiating them, I doubt your tires will be completely dry at this point so use a spotter and you will be fine . If you are open and have no rocker protection plan on some damage unless your 4+ inches in lift (tires or susp.).TJ dents don't pop out like CJ dents .You guys will have a blast and if you have time run up to Rocker Panel pass that will keep you busy .

Yeah i was meeting flexinXJ out there and was REALLY late so i ran top to bottom thinkin i could catch him before the trail was done. I had to work hard to get through that first boulder stack but partly cause i suck at finding good lines. Im sure a good spot and a good line will make ALL the difference. But it doesnt make much of a difference now since my tub likes scars.
On second though Brian at Performance offroad got most of the dents out and the tub corner pushed back up to its original position. that guys got skills!

Things are looking very good for Saturday! The high should top out in the mid 90's. We are on! Keep in mind this is a tough trail. Body damage is possible and you want rocker protection. There are some bypasses but the bare minimum easy lines are still a challenge. I dont want people to underestimate this trail. Expect the run to take at least 3 hours. I'm EXCITED!!! :D
Meet up at 7am at Bush Hwy and the 87. Pullout for the trail around 7:30. Take your doors off. You'll be glad you did.

How is your rig setup? What size tires, lift, rocker protection? There are a lot of trails in the Table Mesa area, which ones did you run? Some guys air down all the way to 8PSI. I air down to about 15 - 12 in most cases cause I'm only running 32"s.

Squeeze Rock is a hell of a lot harder then Box Canyon & Coke Ovens. I don't want to discourage you from wheeling but this trail is not for beginners. I think you should get some more experience and run this one in the future. Just my opinon though. Go check out the Coves at Saguaro Lake. PM me if you want directions.

The Seven Springs area, mainly the campground did get ravaged by the floods following the fire and as of a couple months ago they were still closed. Part of FR24, the main road to Seven Springs was washed out as well but that was repaired fairly quickly.

Hey, I plan on running up there in the morning with everyone and was wondering what kind of damage I may be looking at. My main concern is my hard top and full doors. I've heard of the squeeze doing some damage to tj's and dont find it worth destroying a hard top over. Is it definently worth it to take it off and run with the tube doors?

Wow, I'm surprised that I'll be the first one to post up on this run. We were done with the trail around 11am. Seven of us met up and were on our way to Lower Sycamore. We started the trail and found it nearly dry. It was a world of difference from the last time I ran it with water. We blasted through the trail with no carnage.
After the run, Ghey Tom and I went in search of Sandy Beach. We got some general directions and checked some maps and drove over towards Four Peaks. It did not take long to make our way into a wash. We proceeded with caution and worked our way through the wash. It felt like the right way and as we proceeded, the rocks got bigger and bigger. Finally, it was obvious we found our goal. What a trail! We walked a ways down and tried to imagine the lines. This is a very serious trail. I'm not sure if I'll ever run it in my TJ.
After Sandy Beach, we worked our way over to the Coves and played a bit and had lunch at Cove 3. After that, we decided to call it a day and exited at Butcher Jones. We covered a ton of ground today. It was a lot of fun out there.
Here are some pics below. I have all my pics posted on webshots but the site is running so slow. It was good wheeling with everyone!

Hey now... Thems wheelin words. Don't let me catch you out the trail alone... cause if I do catch you, it probably just means your broken down and my rig isn't much for pullin, and I can't wrench.
Really wished I could have made it... part of my problem was, the sliders that were suppored to be done last week weren't, and I couldn't find an alternative to fit YJunk...

OK, I finally found some time to post on our run to Squeeze Rock. We had 7 Jeeps on this run. They were Dan Sherman, Josh 'UNSTUCK', Scott Williams, Ghey Tom, John 'Lifes-a-Jeep', Tom Hatch and me. Looking over the Jeeps, I realized I was the smallest with 33's and 3" of lift (1" being BL). And, yes, I had to be helped in a few spots. Thanks Dan for winching me through that last obstacle, and to all the guys hanging on to my right side for that 'tippy' situation (Gawd, I HATE that tippy s**t!). We all had a blast on this rather short run. We ran it going upstream (Squeeze then big rock crawling) and we finished about 11am before it got too hot.
I've been going to Sycamore Creek for about 20 years. Squeeze Rock was a favorite place to park and hang out. I used to hike up into the rocky area and occasionally I would see an ATV track and think, "Man, that guy is nuts if he actually took his ATV this far!" I never thought I'd drive my Jeep trough it, but I did it. Needed a little help, but that's what our club is for right? Thanks guys for a great day! It was nice to meet all of you. See ya on the next one.

Well I finally ran Squeeze... I went out Thursday with Shnipe and a buddy of his and punched my way through, both directions. For good measure I hit it again yesterday, but ran most of the by-passes as I was on my own.
I did try a couple of the harder lines Thursday (never made it through), but think we will end up with a couple of decent pictures as a result... if D remembers to post them.
Squeeze will probably become my new testing ground as I make changes to the rig, there is a lot of stuff to try and flex around on to get a feel for what you're capable of from a skill set level and rig level. When I can run all of the stuff there, I'll know both myself and the rig are starting to get up to speed.
Oh yeah... YJunk now has custome rocker panels by Lower Sycamore. :)

that run was wicked fun john! We gotta get alex to get his XJ out there and run 4 rigs instead of three! No longer the newb wheeler huh! You did a damn good job in that POS you call a jeep. Im still jealous at how you blasted down the wash parts with your fancy shmancy air shocks... I have to move back to the east side so i can run that area as much as i used to.
I have my camera with me at work and will get those pics uploaded tonight. they turned out pretty damn good. I cant believe you followed our spots into some of those situations... youre a damn good wheeler but a poor judge of peoples true intentions :D we were tryna get you broke and busted and wedged... but we failed haha.
At least you didnt have pictures of me sleeping in the back of my jeep when you pulled up at the sahuaro turnoff... they coulda been pretty bad.

I knew you guys were F'n me on the spots (JK) but I was having too much fun trying to do it to quit (except for the one where I said... how bout I just punch this down the middle without a spot LOL - that section gave me some shnit yesterday but made thorugh none-the-less)
I had an awsome time out there; we definately need to get Alex and his XJ out there; it looks like it will do just fine. Pretty good group to wheel with right there... so I'm game bro, just let me know.

Is this run a really a 4.0? Someone should do a writeup since some people are considering running it again Tomorrow. I know I would appreciate it.

Right now with the creek being dry I would give Sqeeze a 3.5 , if it is wet then give it a 4.0 . In the past depending on how much material is washed around and if the HOLE is 7ft deep and you have to go over the top then give it a 4.5 . I have spent 5 hours running it at night, running water and having water in my tub (37's with 7or so inches of lift) a time or too which made for a decent 5.o trail but right now it's a cake walk . So you can't rate this trail because everytime we get good rain it changes .I have sat at sqeeze rock in the sand while the water washed around my rig and could feel it sinking about 1 inch or so every 10 minutes which is a very disturbing feeling if you ever have the chance .

I wouldn't rate the trail a 4... I'm punching through on 32's with lockers and Shnipe is making it on 33's with open diff...
There are some lines you can take that will probably make it a 4 ( I think the up and around the previouse thread alluded to was the one where I kept getting my diff stuck on and looked like a pretty tough line)... but honestly we ran up and down it in like three hours or so and stopped a couple of times for extended periods for me to try different stupid shnit in the yj...
Honestly I can't hardly imagin that with water running through it; that would be some crazy driving.
If your running 32's you're going to adjust your rockers unless you take every single bypass... You still might have damage even if you do that. You can see my custom Lower Sycamore Rocker Panels a little bit in the pic...

I wish Jose Cuervo would have left me alone sat.-morning looks like you guys had alot of fun . If we get some rain and the wash starts running I will gladly lead a group thru . Sorry Jason had such a bad brake, the green springs gave it away .

I ATTEMPTED to run squeeze once when the water was flowing. It was flowing a bit too much though and i had major difficulty within the first rock garden once youre through the squeeze. If you plan on going just make sure you know how much is actually flowing. Dont forget about the deep tight spot further up that usually is 3-4ft deep AFTER the water stops flowing....
