BE ALERT...........
Hopefully we won't see complete access closures. Take care when leaving the highways and please remember that even "smoking a cigarette" must stay inside a vehicle or building. BE CAUIOUS and BE SAFE.

FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT ON STATE TRUST LANDS
*
PHOENIX, ARIZONA The Office of the State Forester will implement fire and smoking restrictions starting at 8:00 am on Monday, May 15, 2006.
*
The restrictions have become necessary due to continuing drought conditions and increasingly warm temperatures which contribute to an increasing fire danger. These conditions greatly increase the risk of major wildfires according to Cliff Pearlberg, State Fire Prevention Officer.
*
The restrictions will apply to All State Trust Lands within Apache and Navajo Counties.* They will remain in effect from May 15, through July 31, 2006 or until further notice. These restrictions are in addition to fire restrictions already in effect in Cochise, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai, and Yuma counties.
*
The restrictions are as follows:
*<************** Building, maintaining, or using a fire, campfire, or charcoal burning device except as specifically permitted by the State Forester on a case by case basis. Petroleum fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices are exempt from these restrictions.
*<************** Using fireworks as defined in ARS 36-1601.
*<************** Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, building, developed campground, or stopped in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials..

These restrictions apply to all permits and leases issued by the State Land Department and holders of hunting and fishing licenses.

Any state, federal, or local fire or law enforcement officer, or member of an organized firefighting force is exempt from these prohibitions while in the performance of their official firefighting duties. ###

We got some rain last night here in Eagar. It looked like it was coming down over big lake area most of the afternoon. Hopefully we will have a good monsoon this year! Baked
