I am looking for someone to help out in hte evenings and weekends. This is not full time, but more of when I get busy. Pay is not great, in fact I haven't thought about what I will pay yet. This is more of an opportunity to learn about fabrication.

What I am looking for someone to do:

Cut steel to size using a chop saw and band saw.
Cleaning the edges of cut steel with grinder, file, etc.
Drill some holes, counter sink some holes using drill press.
Maybe some grinding for shaping.
Possibly using torches.
Use common sense!!!

No tools needed, I have everything. I also have gloves, face shields, etc.

I am located in Chandler off Pecos and McQueen, so I would prefer someone close and reliable!

Please PM me your interest and if you have any experiance along with your phone number.

I don't have time to teach you how to weld, but if you are patient that will come eventually. I need someone that can look at my cut list and just start cutting.

If you ever decide to open a Tucson branch I'd be happy to help you out! :D

I think the gas it would cost to travel back & forth would be more than "Apprentice" wages could stand!! ;)

I'd help you for free and only live a mile away... but I think the wife wouldn't be so enthusiastic about that proposition.

Firstly... a bit about me... I work full-time near Chandler and McClintock M-F 8 to 5 as a tech specializing in BMW and Volvo although I have 20 years experience working on all makes and models. I have limited fabrication experience, especially as of late having taken up welding to make hard-core fab stuff for my first 4 wheeler.. an XJ I purchased last year (check out the bumper I built using a discarded alignment rack crossbeam, 1/4 thick front/back) I also have limited experience working in a stainless steel fab shop.

I have a couple of questions for you...

1. will the work be performed primarily in a shop? if so.. is it air conditioned, or swamp coolers or?

2. will the work be primarily for automotive? if not.. what?

Thanks for your time.

Tim
