I was wondering if anyone knows how much fluid stock Rubi diffs should hold?

Thanks in advance.

Option A:
Until it pours out the fill hole on flat ground. If the pinion has been tilted, then park downhill or lift rear to level. This is the only way to be sure you have enough in there to properly lube the components. The capacity mat change depending on carrier Vs locker, super Vs stock axles, diff cover size, etc.

Option B:
2 to 2.5 Qts.

Well, they're the stock Rubi locking diffs. When I bought the fluid, the dude said I'd need 5-6 quarts. When I changed em last weekend it took 3 quarts(1.5 each) and I filled em until it was just starting to come out the holes while the Heep was sitting on flat ground in my garage. It just didn't seem like I used enough. I'm just wondering since I'm driving to Cali in the morning and I don't wanna be stuck in the middle of BFE with a blown diff.

I'm probably just being paranoid because my XJ let me down on that trip more than once and this is my first trip with the TJ.

Your good. I changed the fluid in mine recently and it took about the same amount.

Per the FSM, its exactly 1.9 qts.

The D44's are extrememly sensitive to over filling (as my puking axle seal will confirm during Moab. It puked until it my diff was back down to 1.9qts.) I recently installed a Riddler Diff cover witha high fill plug to compensate for my rotated pinion. This cover allowed me to put just over 2 quarts of 'earl' in the rear. My diff didn't like the extra couple of ounces.
