View Full Version : Reverse shackle setup offroad?
I have a 1983 CJ5. I'm considering having a reverse shackle setup done to it. I have read a multitude of articles on how that would improve the ride and handling on the highway. I'm more interested on what it does to the ride and handling offroad. I don't want to lift the old Jeep.... just improve the off road ride. Is it worth the money to have it done?... I don't do hard core at all, the back way to Crown King beats these old bones down to pure agony.... let me know your experiences please, either on here or email B4141@aol.com. Thanks a bunch... Brent

A shackle reversal expecially with a arched spring will improve the ride and handling if done properly. Thats why back in the old days of offroad racing with leaf springs all trucks ran a reversal.
