It's not ok to weld D44 shafts back together after a break....

I recently purchased an 8 lug D44 for my MJ, in hopes that I would be able to finish the damn thing in time for the ArizonaXJ's 6th anniversary run.. Welp, I finally got the stuck hub off with the use of a hub puller only to find that the long shaft had been welded together at some point in this axles life time..
Long story short... I am stuck not finishing the MJ for the run... Agian.. 2nd year in a row.. I'll be taking my TJ and hope that my XJ/MJ buddies don't laugh at me for driving it with them... I guess it won't be as bad as last year since, last year I took just a fender and a
bottle of booze or 4.... :D

Lesson learned.. Inspect junk before you spend your money.... Used is used.. don't expect too much.. I'm not mad, just bummed...

I might have one as well, my 8-lug 44 is at Joe's shop and if thats the ONLY thing holding you back you can use my shaft (if its not too long :D ) for the trip.

I'll have to measure it in the am.. No it's not the only thing keeping me from finishing.. it was just the straw that broke the camels back.. Most who know me know I've been trying to build this thing on a shoestring budget for the last year.. I still don't have the $$ for the big horn nitro shocks and I'm still waiting on my 4.56 gear set to come in.. Since the front shaft is a waste of iron, I'll just wait for now to finish the Jeep.. I've got the TJ I can wheel for now... Thanks guys!!! Todd, I'll call you on Monday..
