some of you may have read my previous story about my brakes going out.... well thanx to Simon I got me a brand new set of brake lines....and thanx to the kid at 4wheelers that twisted my arm and made me buy the new 60" hi-lift extreme :D .....great prices on both....(see my ad in the for sale section for my old, but never used, hi-lift).....but.....you know there is always a but to these things.....I got the new lines installed (NO LEAKS)....then with the help of my son's strong legs, I got the lines bled.....pedal was good and firm and all looked well....

got in the heep and drove to Tempe to play softball.....as I was getting onto the 101 from the 202, I discovered that I had NO brakes again....pedal went to the floor.....got pulled off to the side and looked under the jeep....no leaks.....master cyl full of fluid.....but still no brakes

so...to the brake guru's out there.....any suggestions on what to look for????.....any and all help would be appreciated......thanx in advance for the help.......

TJ,

there is a chance that there is still air trapped in the calipers.. calipers are stuck, or the entire system has trapped air.. lastly.. are you getting vacuume to the booster ??

dave....I was wondering about the booster....the line from the manifold to the booster is tight and not leaking....should I check elsewhere?

Do you hear a hissing when the pedal is depressed ??

The first thing I would do is check for one last air bubble--sometimes after letting it sit, a little more air will pop up to the bleed valve.

If the pedal goes to the floor it is not a booster, if the booster is bad it would be very hard to push.
If the pedal goes to floor and no leaks there could be air trapped in the system or the master cyl. is bad.

Good call Todd......My thoughts exactly. I worked in a brake shop for 14 years. Seen this a few times before.
