My wife purchased a digital camera a while back for us to take when Jeepin.
She install the software. But it doesn't down load the pictures and you get
the blue screen of death. But now the Scanner Doesn't work eithier. Not
being able to solve this problem. I was wondering if there is anyone in the
club that would like to make some side cash fixing my computer. I can't even
scan in my pictures from our last trip to the white mountains. So if anyone
is interested email me.

Chris,

I guess I'm getting old and conservative... the thought of having "we rock"
on my Jeep after hearing my teenage children overuse the phrase for the past
two years just isn't appealing to me. I'm thinking that since Jon has some
great bumper stickers designed... those who like the saying can purchase a
bumper sticker and have "We ROCK" in huge letters anywhere they want.

I'm not sure when Jon is planning on having the bumper stickers designed...
Jon?

I like those stickers, and yea Jon does an awesome work! I did some
stickers for an Early Bronco List I belong to and it was quite a lot of
work, time and even money.

I will take 6 Jon =) and 2 of the We Rock ones (mom will love them on her
truck!)

I thought the "We go virtually anywhere" phrase was catchy and very fitting to this group.

From what you have described, if you want to go with the PJ then you should
go with the 36" version as it is the better tire. Unless you just want the
larger size for looks.

Also, I think the PJ is a radial whereas the SX is not. (Someone correct
me if I'm wrong.) This may figure into the picture depending on how much
you drive your Jeep on pavement.

I agree however I suggest avoiding use of this phrase because, to a
certain extent, it implies we don't stay on established trails. IMHO.

Stole this from another Jeep list.....

REASONS TO OWN A JEEP

1. You can open a beer bottle with the bumper ends.

2. You can always find the way back just by following the oil drops on the street.

3. To get waved at by fellow addicts.

4. The name JEEP says it all when you are late again.

5. To go where no Land Rover has gone beforeŠ

6. It contains 100% user serviceable parts.

7. JEEP has no endŠ.. It is always underdevelopment.

8. The rainy season in Florida.

9. I can hose out the inside after a family trip.

10. Because I got my toy train and Connects set to late in life.

11. It is the only thing that can get you to the perfect fishing spots.

12. It makes an entertaining ride for Santa.

13. You are never bored.

14. Whenever you are feeling lonely you always have your JEEP.

15. There is nothing that is a true obstacle for a JEEP.

16. Because even after it breaks down it will still get you there.

17. It is an object of unchanging beauty.

18. Checking the oil is always an adventure.

19. As the Beatles sing: BECAUSE

20. Because for all right-thinking people (engineers), function triumphs over form.

21. Because it takes you wherever you want to go.

22. Like your wife, Your JEEP will be with you for life.

23. The bumpy ride makes my girlfriend horny.

24. Your wife/girlfriend will know that you have no time for another girl.

25. You know when you start but you never know when you arrive.

26. Itıs a great place to invest all of that discretionary income.

27. Just to say that you own/owned one.

28. It will still run a thousand miles with nothing more than sawdust in the gearbox.

29. Is there anything else?

30. In a JEEP the other car is your crumple zone.

31. There is no reason, only feelings.

32. With this toy you can play for hours with your son/daughter.

33. As with any 4x4 you donıt have to explain why your fingernails are always dirty.

34. It will run on 2.5 cylinders though mud and back to the house, not fast but it runs.

Anyone have problems with their cd players? Mine just started acting up.
When I go to eject the cd, it gets stuck. I have to hit eject a few
times, then I can just see the tip of it, and try to give it a little pry,
then it comes out. I am assuming it is from the dust, but anyone else
experiance it?

I wonder if I take it in to Earnhardts for warranty if they will deny it
cause I take it off road.;) Or is that just from Darners?

Don't flame me for having a cd player in my TJ, it was part of the
"package" that came with it. Not that there is anything wrong with it in
a Jeep, I would have put one in anyway, I like music when I am driving!
And I don't play it while wheeling.

I have a Sony and it does the same thing every once in a while, but
not very bad because it is the kind where you flip the face down to
insert the CD. It only gets dirty at all because I don't own a top
and my doors don't fit so it's always open to the dust here. They
will probably charge you an arm and leg to clean it. My suggestion
would be to get one that has flip-down face, so when it's closed very
little dust if any can get in compared to a standard CD player. And
buy the extra warranty, you can take it as many times as you want to
get it cleaned for free.

It has some surface rust that could be wire brushed away. I would like to trade it for an AX-15 for my 92 YJ. If you want to trade for other parts or just want the tranny let me know. (would be shipped from IN, haven't moved to AZ yet).

Mine came with a radio/cassette combo and it had somewhat the same problem - tapes wouldn't eject. I took it back to Earnhardts with a stuck tape and they exchanged it without question. It was dust, by the way. I blew it out good before going to the dealer but that is what they said also. It happened again and they replaced it again. Still no questions. And my Jeep is clearly not stock. Earnhardt has declined to continue diagnostics when their work would take them into after market territory but before that they do ok by me. I must admit, though, I don't care much for their attitude in general. They are very secretive. You can't talk to a mechanic and they don't like to discuss warranty work. They do the work ok but don't want to discuss what they do. Strange. Anyway, I keep going back there because they keep fixing OEM stuff.

Actually my wife and I had a better thought, when our CD player goes out I
am going to get a Marine(water not military) CD player. Saw one at
Walmart(In know boat shops will have better ones) that had a cover over it
much like the ones they have for computer keyboards(flexible so you can
press the keys while it is on) to keep the water out. It sealed pretty
tight so I am sure it would keep out alot more of the dust than our current
models.

Just an idea.

Me thinks my YJ's A/C is broke to the point where it makes sense to
do the switch to an R134 set-up. I've seen more than one recommendation
for the aftermarket A/C system from Arizona Mobile Air. I went down there
and talked to them. They claim it has a bigger coil and blower so those
parts of the system are better than the factory set-up. The price for
was $643 for parts only which seems like a great price.

Is there anyone in the club actually running this set-up that can comment
on it and maybe compare it to a factory (aka dealer-installed) set-up?

Well, it looks like you made your decision already....On both the 38's,
you state harder on the D44, the 38 PJ has a weaker sidewall, and it is
the highest price. To me (just my opinion) the 36 PJ looks the best with
what you have written to us. 2" smaller, but stronger sidewall, easier on
the D44, less expensive, sticks like glue!

OK, everyone remember this very important tip!

If you swap someone's large tires out with tiny little low-rider street
tires while they are out of town, DO NOT go anywhere near their pool for
quite a while afterwards! It is even more important that if you are near the
pool for some stupid reason, you DO NOT lean over to check the water
temperature. It makes you an easier target. Right Joe?

I guess this makes us even...
