I watched a group of guys/gals go up it that were here from Colorado. All of
the CJ7's (3 or 4) were running 38.5" TSL/SX's. There were two short
wheelbased ones (Sami and Willy) that were running 35's. All were fuel
injected and well setup. I watched the first 3 people (2 CJ7's and a
Willy's) get up the first waterfall without too much problem. The second
waterfall was a problem!! I couldn't hang around after that, but the trail
made my mouth water!!!! Haven't run it yet.......maybe soon...............

I dont know if its necessary but on some lifts but, I have pro comp 4"
springs and the weight of the winch made the front end dip a little. So I
used 1 3/4 spacers in the front to even it out. It probably depends on what
kind of springs your running some are softer then others.

The fist waterfall is soooooo nasty that I think most sensible people
would decide against attempting it. And, for those that might consider
attempting it, make sure you climb up and over the waterfall first to
take a peak at the second obstacle. Pay particular attention to all
the scrape marks on the rocks and walls. ;-}

Subject: Still can't get TeraLow 4:1 for YJ

Having been waiting for about two months now for a TeraLow 4:1 unit
for my NP231, I guess I'm a little peeved.

In the beginning of May, Tera said they'd have units by the end of
May. No deal. Last week, they said they've have them by the end of the
week. No deal.

Just got off the phone with them and now they're saying it'll be at
least the end of the month.

What gives? It's so frustrating to have the $$ for a needed mod and
have the manufacturer dragging its feet.

I guess when you have a monopoly on a part, you can do whatever you
want. I wish there was another option (can't afford the Atlas).

Anyone know a distributor with 4:1s in stock at a reasonable price
(~$900)? I'm really frustrated.

Subject: Locked up front/Wednesday night outing??

I got my Lock-Right installed and it seems to be functional. I need a
test run before I'll know for sure. At first I thought I could install
it without removing the carrier, but I couldn't get the cross-shaft
retaining pin out. Once I decided to remove the carrier, everything came
out easy and went back in easy. I have a 'thin' ring gear so the
cross-shaft comes out without removing it. I marked the bearing caps and
races and put them back exactly the way they came out. I recovered the
thrust washers and put them in behind the drivers. I filled the diff
with 140w gear oil. I even replaced the worn-out brake pads (thanks Auto
Zone lifetime warranty)
I test dove it on my driveway and 23rd Ave, (all dirt roads where I
live) and it definitely feels locked in 4H and 4L, and unlocks nicely in
2H
Can't wait to try it out! I can't do it Tuesday, but how about a
Wednesday night Raw Deal or Terminator? I would like to go around 7:30.
Any takers?

I usually don't like to disagree with people on opinions on trails and their
difficulty (because it is subjective.....highly subjective) but I would say
that Annihilator is not "substantially" harder than H2H. H2H is MUCH longer
with more obstacles. Annihilator has 3 hard obstacles where I've seen the
first one look easier than H2H's hardest and the second equal to H2H's
hardest (I'm thinking of the giant water fall on H2H about in the middle that
you pretty much need a winch to get up due to a short wheel based Jeep).
Annihilator is certainly do-able without a winch (I've seen it done) as well
as H2H probably is. They are hard in their own way. But I would rate
Annihilator as not substantially harder. More like.....the same......yet
different. <big grin>
