Most of us don't have an OBD II reader. Albeit we can all pull the code off the dash and get a 7 word definition of what it means it mostly ends there and we need to sort it all out on our own.
I stumbled across this and feel this mandates a bookmark in your browser. It has tons of info and its free. It got ever code know to man and its free. Its almost as good as having an OBD II reader. For your viewing and diagnostic pleasure:

Not yet, but going to look at them today. Got to figure out what all I need in one. They seem to range in price from about $49 bucks:rolleyes: to about $7k:eek: on the Snap-On site. My limit is about $200:) just need to figure out what $200 buys me.

My CJ and I are old school and my OBD are my eyes/ears/nose.
That said, I do have the Howell EFI which uses a Chevy computer and supposedly there is a method to attach a light (although I've never understood how) which can be used to retrieve the codes but turning the ignition switch on/off. Apparently the proper key sequence will cause the light to flash a code sequence.
Maybe there's also a method to attach an OBD II reader. Guess I'll do some reading...
