I'm glad most people enjoyed my humor about the whole April fool's thing, however we will be having a big shin-dig soon, Our May 13th Re-Grandopening will probably be postponed due to advertising constraints, but.......in the meantime I would like to ask my fellow jeeper's to take a small amount of time and come by our showroom and give us input on our progress, I will be having a raffle drawing at our Re-Grandopening for 2 big items 1: big screen tv(32") and also a Warn 9klb winch. (no joke I promise)
What I'm offering/asking is that I get valuable input from you guys on everything, looks, displays, stock, impulse items etc.etc.....
what you will get in return is a free raffle ticket for the big drawing on our Re-Grandopening.
these tickets will be selling for 1$ a piece and 3$ dollars for 5 tickets, but you will get one free ticket for giving your input (in person)
Now here's the kicker, Every dollar, I mean EVERY DOLLAR thats put into our little raffle bowl will be going to JOE WEST, for his valued hard work on this forum board. Why you ask?.............well maybe you can help me help him make a difference, or maybe we can take some of that money and use it for "red shirts" etc...etc....
So Please pass the word on, I'd like to raise as much possible for Joe/this forum, and I'd love to get all your valued input b/c without alot of you their would be no me:D :D
Thanks in advance

Hmmmmm, a free chance of winnng a winch for coming in and critisizing you  , well it isnt 50% off everything but wth can I lose? And its an easy way to donate to the club. Now about those Optimas...
And you better not be kidding this time or there may just be a "unfortunate accident" with your shop, or worse yet, your Jeep

There is some sheetmetal on the back I saw today, unless you killed that off today. :D
I'll try and swing in sometime Friday to check out the steel slatwall. I think it'll look killer based on the piece and the ideas you had today. :)

Nick,
I appreciate your decision to close the doors in the light of what you described. Now comes the selfish part. I have the winning ticket for the winch that was raffled earlier this spring. Obviously I have not been able to pick it up ans have been relaxed about that since you told me not to worry, it would be there in the fall. Should I have someone from the valley drop down there to pick it up or is there a way to make other arrangements? I do look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

These are examples of the times that you assured me that a 9K Warn winch, would be available when I returned. You can see my posts in this thread. We have exchanged a few PMs in which I have tried to be thoughtful and patient, (copies may need to be posted) but no time has been set for me to obtain the winch I won and now..... posted in another thread is the statement that sounds as if it is not likely to happen at all.
There are some facts in this issue that need to be noted.
Nick organized a raffle. Jack bought several tickets. Nick drew a ticket and proclaimed a winner and Jack has that ticket. Nick has promised on more than one occasion to deliver a winch to Jack but without a time and date. Nick has not yet set a time for this to happen in spite of Jack making it as easy as possible (I will go anytime, anyplace). So, Nick, I am "calling you out", let's meet, I'll pick up the winch and buy lunch for both of us. There doesn't have to be hard feelings about this. :)

I work everyday till usually atleast 1am
so your gonna have to give me some time, as for the ticket it doesn't matter I'm no longer in business, this will be something I do just out of kindness b/c really I don't have to anymore, just bare with me, I'm looking to get some time off during the holidays
I was wondering why you needed time off during the holidays to meet me to pick up the winch. It should really take only a few minutes to do that.
let me spell this out for you b/c apparently your under the assumption I'm going to go out of my way to give you a winch in which you paid merely a few dollars for a stupid ticket and I spent 300$ on the winch. in total I was only able to collect almost 100$ total for the whole raffle, so I lost out big time!!!.
on top of that I haven't been to my storage unit in almost 2 months, why? b/c I don't have time, so please excuse my sarcasm when I say I need some time, b/c honestly I'm no hurry what so ever to get you that winch. When I have time, again when I have time on top of working 70hrs + a week, being a father of 5 children and it being the "busy" holidays, trust me I'll get to you and you'll be the first one to know when I can.

For your reading pleasure...
"No one may conduct a raffle or any other form of amusement gambling unless the event is registered with and approved by the Arizona Attorney General's Office, 1275 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007, (602) 542-3881. To register, you must complete a written Amusement Gambling and Raffle Registration Form for approval by the Attorney General's Office. (ARS § 13-3311)
Arizona law prohibits all gambling unless the gambling falls within an express statutory exception. "Gambling" includes any act of risking or giving something of value for the opportunity to obtain a benefit from a game or contest of chance or skill or a future contingent event (ARS § 13-3301). A raffle involves the payment of money for the opportunity to benefit from a future contingent event and therefore will be illegal unless the raffle satisfies a narrowly defined statutory exception."
In other words, unless the raffle is for a not-for-profit or has been officially sanctioned, its a No No.
Just get the man his winch... Its not his problem you lost money on the deal. I've never met you, so I won't pretend to know you, but your public response on this is less than flattering.

My point is Nick may be very busy/unable to get the winch out/or whatever the exuse is...but Jack deserves his winch.

I agree.....He won it and should be able to claim it. Just wondering why it took so long to pick it up. Don't know the whole story but had it been me and I was out of town I think I would have had it shipped to me at my expense. Still would have been a awsome deal. Just my $.02. Sometimes if you let to much time pass, circumstances change. Hope you guys get it worked out. Good luck.

And the winner of the Mr. Congeniality 2006 Award is . . . ??
IMO Nick should be a man and either:
A). Give Jack his winch.
Or
B). Admit that he doesn't have it already and give back the raffle ticket money.

John, that wrestling photo made me LMAO!

This is the only way Jack will ever get his winch from Nick:rolleyes: . By bringing to the public........... And one must wonder, did Joe West ever get his money from the raffle tickets:confused: ..... to be continued.;)

Joe said he didn't want the 92$ or whatever small amount it was b/c he knew I ate it on that, so yes I kept the money and No Joe never Saw it, I do actually have the winch.
and..............if I highly stress IF I even decide to give jack the winch, it won't be anytime this month, and can't even garuntee a certain time next month.
for all I care I'll send Jack whatever dollar amount he claims he put in on the raffle and a picture of what coulda been his winch

Hey, Nick, I'll make time to go to your storage and get that winch out for Jack. That seems to be the only holdup in ending this drama.

The club has had nothing to moan about so they all jumped on this. That is all.
Yeah Jack won the winch but didn't pick it up anytime soon after that. Now that hes back it looks like he is hounding to get it. Nick said he would get it to him on his time.

I realize how the board is...stirred a few pots in my time here. However, when I examine the posts by Nick, are they not begging to be commented on???
Ask for an opinion, and you will get one.

You know...if Nick had remained somewhat classy, then I might be inclined to agree with you. Class has a way of espousing sympathy. But his post in the Sponsor's Forum, especially given the type of guy Jack is, was uncalled for and lacked class.

If your keeping it just to piss him off your doing a good job!
Besides being an *****, what good reason do you have to withhold the prize? Because he's bugging you about somthing he won months ago??
Jack is just frustrated, as would I be, if it were my winch! He THOUGHT he won a winch!! Just give it to him and the drama ends!!
I'll drive and get it for him!!
....I expect to get blasted for having said somthing! You've blasted everyone that comments!
It wouldnt be all that hard to explain! Is the problem that you owe $ to the storage, and cant access it??
Nobody here hates you Nick, but some of us dont understand why your doing this!!

It's not a timing thing - as in if Jack would have picked it up right away. He offered to send a friend to pick it up right when he discovered he had won it, but Nick reassured him it would be waiting for him in the fall when he returned.

Which just go to show how lame "bans" can be. I mean here are several guys still posting after supposedly being banned. Dumbest 30 seconds of my life has been reading "Ban so and so" threads. This place is getting stupid.

Maybe I need to start a Bush thread............
