Geez. You have had a streak of health luck lately huh? I hope you feel better again. Where and what did you eat?

Tell me about it. 3 "occurances" in less then 4 months.
Jan was an issue and then now 2 this month.
Des Moines airport and I'm not sure if it was Uno Pizza or the smoothie place directly across from it.
Now I'm missing the rest of today's shift (they are in DSM again tonight and are going to party :( ) and tomorrow shift back. I am supposed to work Friday/Saturday and probably will.
I took 4 pills (daily allowance) of Immodium AD and that didn't even work. It seems to be slowing down now but I haven't even tried to eat and I'm hungry. :(

Toast as burnt (carbon settles down the bacteria) as you like it is helpful and less likely to come up than most other foods or go through as fast.
Plenty of fluids to replace and Gatorage is good to replace the electrolytes you have lost.
More issues if you were diabetic.
Avoid dairy for a week, just gives the bacteria something to have a party and grow with.
BRAT diet is a good first step back to eating well.
Broth (chicken or beef)
RICE
APPLESAUCE
TOAST
I always start with the toast and if that is OK advance to the others. Limit yourself to these for a day or two and you will recover faster.

Go make friends with the local fire department. I know you speak the language. Pump about four bags of fluid in you and you will feel much better. And it always helps with the hangover.

not to make light of your suffering but shouldn't the title be Food Poisoning BLOWSChunks. :D :D

Well, your first mistake was eating something in Des Moines, Iowa. Don't you know about Des Moines?!? I thought everybody knew about Des Moines!!! :D
"Now Stuart, if you look at the soil around any large U.S. city with a big
underground homosexual population - Des Moines, Iowa, perfect example!
Look at the soil around Des Moines, Stuart! You can't build on it, you
can't grow anything in it. The government says it's due to poor farming.
But I know what's really going on, Stuart. I know it's the *****s.
They're in it with the aliens. They're building landing strips for gay
Martians! I swear to God.
You know what Stuart, I like you. You're not like the other people, here
in the trailer park."
...just trying to make you laugh. ;) Hope you feel better soon!

Well I do feel better this morning which is good. Was able to eat some crackers and some rice last night which I think did help. Stomach is still growling at me though with its disapproval of one of the two items from lunch. I think by this afternoon all will be well again.

I'm from Des Moines, and if you ate anything in the same neighborhood as the airport I cannot say I'm suprised you got the food poisoning. That area is pretty bad. (well, as bad as a neighborhood can be in Iowa anyway)
I took 4 pills (daily allowance) of Immodium AD and that didn't even work. It seems to be slowing down now but I haven't even tried to eat and I'm hungry. :(
You need Ematrol... it's good Shiznit!!!!! give it to the kids when they get the puke's... Take it myself after too much Jim Beam and Mtn Dew... :D Makes the tummy much better..

Jaime, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience in DSM, but I can't knock Des Moines. I spent 8 months on a consulting gig there in 2004, flying to/from home each weekend; that's why I was able to afford my 2005 TJ.
My favorite eating place in Des Moines is the Flying Mango on Hickman Road. Flying Mango (http://www.flyingmango.com/)
