The motor mount lift helps decrease the drive line angle to the rear axel.
This is an alternative to doing a transfer case drop. Both these
modifications help eliminate/reduce drive shaft vibrations when doing a
suspension lift. Typically needed when doing a 3" or greater lift.

Scott T,
On some TJ's the AC lines pass through a hole in the radiator flange. All you have to do is cut a notch in the flange and pull the AC line back to allow clearance. Its pretty simple to do.

Considering how simple a body lift is, I don't think there is really a
"best" one on the market. There aren't any moving parts (unless you install
the usually optional t-case linkage fixer upper).
I prefer the non-aluminum pucks since I don't like the galvanic action
between aluminum and steel. (just my perosnal preference).
PA (Performance Accessories) makes a nice kit....somewhere around $70 mail
order. I've had one on for 1.5 years and it does everything it is suppose
to....it keeps the body 1" above the frame (not the most difficult job in
the world) ;)
There are other brands on the market that would certainly be able to do that
job just as well.

In my opinion the offroad performance gained by installing a 4:1 transfercase is #1 above all others. I feel that second to that is being locked front and rear. Third would be a good set of offroad tires such as Swampers, MT/Rs, etc. Everything else is icing on the cake :)

it cost? I have been thinking about doing that one on my 98 TJ. As
for the MML how much are those running? I'm guessing about $100 does
that sound pretty close. I'm running a spacer lift (1.75) and I want
to add the JKS 1.25 (for 3" total lift) and the 1" motor mount lift.
Do I have to do anything else to fit the MML?? Which would I want to
do first... I'd do them both on the same day, so would it be easier

Well worth the money, not to bad to install. The only thing I can tell you is
pay attention to the preload on the front output shaft bearing. There are
shims installed that are sized to the original bearings, the kit supplies you
with new bearings, but not new shims, and you will most likely need different
thickness shims then what you have. Be prepared for your brakes not to work
as well when your in low. You may find yourself standing on the pedal to keep
the jeep stopped.

I'm the one with the JKS 1.25" BL and M.O.R.E. 1" motor mounts.
Check out JKS's site: http://www.jksmfg.com
Right now, their body lifts are $89.00 that's a sale price. I paid a
bit more for mine. It'd be a good time right now to pick a kit up.
I think the motor mounts (http://www.mountainoffroad.com) cost me $80
or $90. I just got the painted ones, I didn't see a need for the zinc
plated. JKS also makes some motor mounts. I'm sure they're quality
mounts. Currie and a few other places sell them as well. I haven't had
any problems so far with my MORE mounts. But, I can't really remember
why I chose those over any others.
As for what to do first. I literally did mine both at the same time. I
started on the body lift while a friend of mine did the motor mounts.
I had finished up the body lift and was looking for a wrench to help
with the motor mounts. By the time I found one, he had already put
both mounts in place. Some people have a lot of trouble with the motor
mounts. But, if you follow the directions, you should be fine. It
might help to have someone lend you a hand.

That is 100% what happened to me the first time I put my lockright in
my D35. Didn't put the spacers in, and it locked up the diff like a
spool, broke all the pins. However in my case it imbedded half of
the pin into the driver, rendering the driver useless, so I had to
get new drivers as well. Might want to check on that. My guess
would be you talked to Ken, he has been totally cool with all the
problems I've had with the No-Slip and Lockright.

Also, not sure what motor you have, if you have a 4cyl, motor mounts
are the most PIA I've ever encountered, and many others have had the

I've heard. If you have a 4, give yourself lots of time for altering
the motor mount to get it to fit properly.

Sounds like they HAVE figured it out...didn't they say, "You MUST install

The biggest problem with the Lockrights, are their installation
instructions. Especially when it comes to steps where you have
different options, based on ABS, open (limtedslip) and in Mike's case
the spacers (in my opinion). They are honestly the worst ever
written for anything I've ever put together. The instructions for
the No-Slips are great, very helpful, so I think they need to re-
write them for the Lockright now.

Subject: Tranny mount questions
YJ owners,
Any of you have issue with your transmission mounts? What I mean is I do not like the way the bolts come down thru the cross member. I was just looking at a mount (http://www.mountainoffroad.com/catalog/Trans%20Mt/transmission.htm) that looks like the ideal replacement.
My biggest issue is the torque arm bushings and bolt. That bolt on mine is missing the nut so I get a constant rattle from below. I have not put a nut on there because then that bolt will be hanging 2" below the cross member waiting to get bent on a rock.
Anyone have advice or better solutions? I am thinking of just chopping the torque arm bolt and replacing the transmission mount.

Just one thing to remember when doing this and that is you will be able to
apply about 2.4 times more torque to the drive shafts then the stock
configuration can. So be prepared to brake them if you do not upgrade them.

I second Stu's comments. I love my TeraLow. Having said that, though,
you will probably notice somewhat less of a dramatic difference since
you have an automatic. Automatics by nature act somewhat like low
gearing. You can literally come to a complete stop and the transition
between stop and start is smooth with an automatic. I have ridden in
an automatic with 4:1, though, and it is sweet.

help? I did this with Tera concerning their 2T lift and they wrote a new

asking me to review what they had done.

translates into reduced chance for damage and increased safety.

He also has a highlift attached to the passenger side rollbar and a fire

Please let me know what the plate number is too, I will certainly keep an

The motor mount lift helps decrease the drive line angle to the rear axel.
This is an alternative to doing a transfer case drop. Both these
modifications help eliminate/reduce drive shaft vibrations when doing a
suspension lift. Typically needed when doing a 3" or greater lift.

Scott T,
On some TJ's the AC lines pass through a hole in the radiator flange. All you have to do is cut a notch in the flange and pull the AC line back to allow clearance. Its pretty simple to do.

I prefer the non-aluminum pucks since I don't like the galvanic action
between aluminum and steel. (just my perosnal preference).
PA (Performance Accessories) makes a nice kit....somewhere around $70 mail
order. I've had one on for 1.5 years and it does everything it is suppose
to....it keeps the body 1" above the frame (not the most difficult job in
the world) ;)
There are other brands on the market that would certainly be able to do that
job just as well.

that sound pretty close. I'm running a spacer lift (1.75) and I want

Do I have to do anything else to fit the MML?? Which would I want to

Also, not sure what motor you have, if you have a 4cyl, motor mounts
are the most PIA I've ever encountered, and many others have had the
same issue. If you have a 6, you shouldn't have a problem, from what
I've heard. If you have a 4, give yourself lots of time for altering
the motor mount to get it to fit properly.

Being able to crawl slow means staying under control. And that
translates into reduced chance for damage and increased safety.
Definitely worth it to me!.

Tim,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I work in Tempe and live way out west, I
will keep my eye out for it. Are there any other logos, stickers etc... that
would make it stand out in a crowd? What you just described as yours is
also Joey K's(his is actually a 3" lift, but with 31's on stock Jeep wheels.
He also has a highlift attached to the passenger side rollbar and a fire
exstinguisher behind the drivers seat an the roll bar.
Please let me know what the plate number is too, I will certainly keep an
eye out for it. I hope you get your Jeep back in pretty decent shape.

I hope no one gets mine confused!!! Cops pulling me over I can handle...
Angry Jeepers using me as an articulation ramp I can't. Just kiddin'.
Tim I sympathize. I am hopin' for a speedy undamaged recovery for you. If
not, I hope your insurance company covers your loss.
Keep us posted.
