Hello All,

Looking for a 3.0 to 3.5 run for Monday. Wife and I would like to go on one more run before my SOA goes on - starting it June 1.

Have done Raw Deal, Tin Can Alley, Coke Ovens, Box Canyon, Lake Pleasant to Crown King - would like to do something different. Broken Arrow?? Coves?? Dupont Cabin??

Can't do anything Saturday or Sunday - working both days.

TIA

I can't race anyone in my TJ, I get hung up on the speed bumps.
But it's fun to go slow and annoy the crap out of the rice burners,
they started riding my butt, but you can't see them cause they are so
low! The best in when they cut you off, especially at night, most of
them just beat me to the stoplight, then I get to roll up and they
get the whole interior lit up like the sun with a mirror full of hi-
beams and KC's!

As far as gas mileage, I can't really complain, if you choose one of
the most innefficient vehicles made the MPG is gonna suck!
Sounds like your getting about twice what I get, so that's cool.

This is cool! It looks like ORU is monitoring/participating on our forum.
Which I think will be great for all.
You think some of the other company's will catch on? I think we might get
improved service and better deals if more did. Maybe even professional
advice.

MPG - Well I moved from a full size 4 door lifted Yukon with a modified
motor - was getting 8-10 mpg and could only run Premium unleaded. I am
tickled to death getting 15 mpg and running regular unleaded with my new 4.0
liter auto! =)

I don't consider my mileage that bad. although I live in the valley. I did
a two mileage checks last month on the highway...the average of the two were
18 MPG. That was from my 4.0L turning 35"x12.5" tires with 4.56 gears. I
don't get that in town, but then we were talking road trip (aka., highway)
miles, right? ;)

According to my calculations, I am only running about 100 RPM's or
less then stock @ 60 mph in 5th gear. My stock gears were 4.10's with
215-75R15's tires. Now I am running 33X9.50X15's with 4.88 gears. So
as far as speedometer gears I think that I am close enough to were I
was. I will get my speedometer checked and repost the results. I do
know of a guy up here that has a 1997 4 Banger and stock tires
getting 23 MPG on the high way. This surprises me that alot of you
guys down in the Valley are getting such bad gas mileage, what are
you guys doing down there? Racing everyone from stop light to stop
light? Maybe it is because my Jeep is a little broke in with 108000
miles on it. Who knows, but I will keep everyone posted.

Subject: Introduction

Hello all,

Since I am new to azvjc and starting to post replies etc on this group I
thought I would introduce myself. I am a computer forensic examiner
currently living in Scottsdale (Male - 34 years old, lived in AZ since 83).
I have been dreaming of owning a jeep for several years now and am now the
proud owner of a brand new 2001 Wrangler TJ Sport (4.0, dana44, duel tops).
So far I have installed a Garmin Streetpilot III GPS, ARB Bullbar, Warn
XD9000i winch. I have in the garage a Hanson rear bumper/tire carrier/rack
and Kilby gas tank skid plate freshly powder coated that I will hopefully
install this week. Unfortunately my Four x doctor rocker panel guards and
diff protectors were stolen while at Arizona Powder coat and a new set is on
order (AZ Powder coat picking up the tab, phew). Rick at Discount Tire
hooked me up with 5 35x12.5" MTR's on 15x8 Centerline Hellcat's and
4wheelers supply is installing a 4 1/2" RE long arm and 1" body and motor
lift, along with ARB Lockers and 4.56 gears on the 29th.

If anyone has an open seat on any upcoming trail rides/trips or needs an
extra hand working on their jeep, I would love to participate as a
passenger/helper. I hope to be running the trails in my own jeep in Mid
June.

Anyway, a big hello and jeep wave to you all and I hope to meet many of you
soon!

I wouldn't use anything except a dealer item on these late model in tank electric pumps. Yes they're expensive, but there's a reason the aftermarket ones are cheaper in this case. You get what you pay for.

Welcome to the Club and Jeepin Lifestyle.
Nice Jeep from what it sounds, Cool Job Description as well.
Only One Question, Your online name "Templar" is that actually part
of your name, or is there another reason, I would be interested in
talking with you, if it means what I hope it means.

As In Knights I would assume that you would know alot of their
history. If not Please excuse my assumption

Sincerely: JEEP THANG

Hello All,

This is an automated message from the website, please do not reply to it!

Mike Anderson is leading a Broken Arrow trail run on Monday, May 28, 2001.

When: meet at Carefree Hwy. exit of I-17 (SE corner) at 8:00. Or meet at trailhead at 9:30.
Where:
Rating: 2.5+
Length: Phx to Phx, expect 6-8 hours?
CB Channel: 4

I will tenatively lead this run, but others that are going can lead if I can't. E-mail me if you are interested and which meeting place you will be at.

Broken Arrow is a fun trail with great scenery. A stock Jeep can make this run and there are areas for those with built rigs to test and flex their suspension, such as the Crack. Pay attention to the signs, as part of this trail is a one-way loop.

A lot of Pink Jeeps share the trail so please put your best foot forward while representing our club. For many of the passengers on those Jeep tours, you are the first real off-roader they have ever seen (gosh, that is a scarey thought!) You will find that most of the pink drivers are pretty cool!

The Devil's Staircase is fun, and some members have been known to run it bottom-to-top. If you do, please post a look-out at the top to prevent someone from coming down while you are trying to go up.

It usually takes a couple of hours to make the loop, which allows ample time for pictures and a stop at Chicken Point for lunch (you did bring lunch, didn't you?)

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Hi Gang

Does anybody know ARB web address? I've heard rumors of a electric locker being available in June, but cannot find their web site.

Have a good night....

Subject: GPS Programming

Any programmers in the group? More specifically, any programmers who are
interested in creating software for the Garmin GPS? I've looked at the
protocol specs and they seem somewhat complicated.

I'm looking for ways to improve my GPS usage by writing utility programs.

If any of you non-programmers have any ideas for how you could use your GPS
and your computer together (even WindowsCE), let me know.

Thanks,

Michael Earls
