Castle Hot Springs Rd. ~ 3/15/06

I think John and I have decided on this provided his work gets done tomorrow and I can handle driving. I was riding around in the Jeep today and will be again tomorrow so I think I'm good to go, driving that is... no hiking around the area much though. :D

John has never done this little backcountry jaunt but while a hippy van could probably make it through there, it is a nice little excursion into the middle of nowhere.

If John is cool with it, I'm thinking meeting between 9:30 and 10am. Trail should take about 3 hours tops and we'd be back into town by mid-afternoon.

Anyone else want to go sheck out the scenery?

Drove around part of it today to see if there was much mud/water. There is some but everything is crossable.

No problem, too bad cause it was a fun time. May go back out on Tuesday next week.

I did forget my camera so no pics :( but Big Dave on his first outting with his Jeep with a VJC'er was great. We did a good protion of Castle Hot Springs Rd but ended up trapped behind some cowboys moving the herd. So instead of sitting there for who knows how long, we doubled back and took the trail down to China Dam and checked that out some and then we went to Table Mesa Rd and took that as far as the lake. It's very nice out there right now and of course the lake is nowhere passable. It was a ncie lazy day with great people, great views and great weather. Oh and there was mud, lots of it if you didn't feel like avoiding it. :D
