Ok, we started this just with the Surprise crew, but lets open her up a bit. So lets open up a meet for the whole West Side!!!!

Anyone want to meet this weekend? There is already hang out that is used at about 83rd Ave between Deer Valley Road and Beadsley. It is a weekly car show like the one at the Pavilions that we could all show up to and hang out and show off our toys too.

Any thoughts West Siders???

And if anyone has a better name for the thread by all means let me know and I will see if I can change it... :D

Saturday, 6:00pm ish, I heard some of the hot rods get there as early as 4 or 5pm. Usually ends about 8:00pm.

This is how they started the one out at the Pavilions, started with just hot rods, and now has a bit of everything.

There is a Safeway that is at 83rd Ave and Lake Pleasant Road, it is half way between Beardsley and Deer Valley Road. It is on the East side of 83rd Ave.

So anyone interested?

How is the ankle? Ever catch that "Kitty"? :D

Ankle is still slightly swollen but the top of my foot and the underside of the outer ankle has bruised and the outer ankle bruise is a nice dark purple. There is also a slight bruise on top of the ankle on the outer side too. Inner ankle is still not bruised but I'll give that another day or two. I did speak with my athletic trainer that I worked with at the High School in NJ and she's going to hook me up with an ankle brace that is made for athletes and is better then the braces you can by over the counter.

I was out all day today cause I got tired of being couped up in my apartment and with the crutch hobbling around and chilling out at Performance Offroad. Won't be doing that again cause I think I went and worn out my welcome. :p I'll try and get around tomorrow w/o the crutch though to see how it does. Won't take off the air cast though.

As for the kitty, no. :( Damn kitty.... :mad: ;)

Yes and I put the wrong ending part. 99th ave that runs North and South turns into Lake Pleasant Road, half way between Beardsley and Deer Valley Road there is a Lake Pleasant Parkway. Sorry for the confusion.

Just get to the Safeway half way between Beardsley and Deer Valley Road on 83rd Ave and you will be there.

Just got back from a short run with Brad B. (AZG23) and his friend Jimmy. We found Tax Collector and I think did the bottom of Firebird. Brad, I just read on the old site that the red firebird is at the TOP of firebird and marks where it turns into Ruler. Had a great time with two guys that had similar jeeps and driving skills. Jimmy, you Rock dude, when you are ready to upgrade your T-case skid let me know. Going to try to link a couple of pic's to this, wish me luck.:)

OK Brad, but fainting and sleeping look the same when you just glance over your shoulder into the back seat. Anyway, I'm ready to try that road back to the north and finish Firebird next time. Guess I will have to wait until next week unless someone else is going earlier. This weekend we have a campout in the Devils chasm north of Globe in the Sierra Ancha Mtns.

Oh I know...It's only my second time on TC...(and I actually drove right to it ;) ) and Firebird is next...never been on it...Ive been exploring all kinds of different plain ol 2wd trails out there...there are a ton

I finally found the one Ive been looking for that goes up right next to and along the mountain..and can get back to it I guess is the important part...

I just wanna wheel the snot outta it before its GONE to developement..it wont be long til the good ones that are close will be gone.

I havent had a chance to get the washers and pins to try it...I will check to see though as I havent reco'd the bar since Tuesdays run...:D As for Monday...Wayne and I were gonna do Firebird and the west side trail...more than welcome...just try not to do any mechanical maintenance on the Heep...;)

Wannabeyerdaddy....Sat at the event is okay with me...its not too dirty under there...you shouldnt get too messed up installing it....peace (thru superior firepower)

You don't need to go that far, I found a place that does custom Jeep decorating for free!! And it's drive thru... Just head west on Van Buren to Bullard, turn right and it's on the right side about 100 yds. down.

I got him a little dirty the other night. Brad remember how we were talking about passing people in the dirt....well I did that since there was a left turn lane and the gal decided not to use it, so I used the Jeep passing zone to the right and it had a little mud.

I hate cleaning it after it's muddy, I wonder if my detailers work for beer???:)

This thread never had a rail, if it did we would all be run out of town on it. But if I were going to derail it, the topic would be Nth degree shock shifters. When we came back from TC I noticed that both of my rear shocks had little dents where they hit the lower coil spring plate. Has anyone had this problem? Nth degree has these shock shifters that move the bottom attach point outboard and turns the pins so the shock bushings rotate instead of bind when you articualte. Does any one run this mod?

I'm goin in my truck..With a cab....and heat...Well the Juggy has a heater but it just blows the heat right out the doors? I'd rather go in my Juggy but I think more peole would go if they have cabs....

I'm sorry too, I don't want to spoil the fun this thread has been for everyone, but I am new to this forum and don't know how to use it properly I guess. Is there a better way to find out about this issue? I'm not silly enough to just buy something without getting the opinion of those that are more knowlegable than me, (like most of you are) but it looked like a clever way to improve clearance and make the shock bushings last longer.

I've never seen them before, but I could kinda picture what you were talking about. I think what most people on here would say is don't waste $$ on something that you could modify for free to rectify the problem. At least that's my advice. Spend $$ on stuff that you need to buy instead.

If modifying doesn't work, then buy stuff...just my opinion.

I think I will try Wind Danzer's idea and notch out the spring pad, Wannabejeeper, I have the floor jack and beer, we could do this anytime you want to. If anyone has done this, I would like to see it before I try it. I also got a PM from Rich (in the creek) he suggested turning the shock up side down but my shocks are as large at the top as they are at the bottom so this wouldn't work for me, maybe for you KJflowers. Keep you posted here...

well I won't be there because I have a job and have to work. But it is raining here in Newport Beach and has been all day and is supposed to tomorrow as well.

I checked the weather for Tuesday in Phoenix and it is supposed to be sunny and 72 and my wife just gave me permission to attend the fourwheeling trip. so i will now go change me tentative to a definite.
I am way psyched to finally get to wheel with you kids.

Flowers, I just got home and the pics kinda stink. I still haven't gotten good at night shots. :(

Anyway, it was good seeing the old faces and meeting and greeting with the new ones. :) Bill's buggy got a lot of attention but I made it better by humping a front tire. People seemed to be in awe of the tire climb. Afterwards there was a child that asked his Dad how the car got up there. :D

We decided to include our newcomer Jason in a tire climb so changing up the Jeeps some, he ended up climbing the back of Bills tire and I tried to climb it with my front tire again. Well that didn't work. by this time a crowd was gathering and watching in amusement. I finally decided to just back up on it as I couldn't climb it with the front again. :( People seemed to be impressed, there were a few claps (probably cause they thought I'd never get up there :p).

Meanwhile, AZG23 and someone I can't rmember the name of cause I never do, climbed his tire and posed for a shot or two.

I had a great time with everyone there. This is a show done once a week, I think it would be neat for a turnout as often as possible. Especally after a run it would be neat to do as a lot of people run up in Table Mesa or Lake Pleasent, it is pretty much on a the way home.
