Heyas all. I seem to be having a huge problem finding a 14 bolt axle at a reasonable price. Everywhere I turn I am looking at just ridiculous prices for 14 bolt axles. How did anyone else find their 14 bolts since I honestly feel I must be looking at in ALL the wrong places.

I was quoted a set out of a 77 chevy 44d and 14bolt, $1200 if I remember right. Bone stock, nothing done to them. At a salvage yard so was expecting expensive, but nothing like that at all.
The second place I went had like 5 or 6 14bolts jut hanging out in his yard and then another 4 or 5 sitting on a rack. Again, bonestock nothing built, and he wanted $700 if I remember correctly.

WOW!!
Look in the mirror and make sure you don't have "Take my money, I don't know any better" tattooed on your forehead. Randy at Driven will probably sell you one for around $300.00, but they can be had for as low as $100.00 if you get it from a private individual. Personally, I wouldn't pay over $200.00 for one...

I checked the mirror and nothing there. However I am thinking the shirt that I always wear when going to the yards might be a problem. It says in bold lettering, "I am building a Jeep, bend me over!"
Really though, I don't mention what it is for at all, I think they just know. Damn junkyard spies.....

I was just able to pick one up for $100 from a board member that had it advertised on the old site classifieds. Good luck

Well how is this for a kick in the nuts:mad:
I find a guy that has a matching set 14 bolt and 44 and offers to flat out trade me for my wagoneer axles, straight up, no problem. We talked a few times, and everything was good. Well since Saturday, day of trade, I have not been able to get ahold of him at all. Will not return any calls or anything. So I figure he is like out of town unexpectantly, but more likely backed out of deal without letting me know.
So now, I have my trailer out in front of my house with my axles all loaded up and ready for the trade. A few more days and I am gonna have to end up putting them up for sale to try and raise some cash for the high prices being asked for a 14b and 44d.

i'll just go ahead and solve your problem, there is a guy down here in chandler that hos about 500 sets of axles, his name is Jack Welch, # 480-539-3979 or 480-786-8083. He is the man when it comes to axles, he knows his stuff, i just picked up my 14 bolt from him for 100 bucks and my d44 hp for 500 not bad i thought and he's got so many to choose from. Call him hes got what you need.
