Hey just wondering a couple things. There are a bunch of us in the club from all over Phoenix, let alone the state. Some of us from the westside(Surprise) have been having our fun with our own seperate threads. It made me think.
There are definatley groups of us that are spread out into different parts of the state that not only have that in common, but it is easier to help one another out in if you live close to each other. What do all think of the idea of breaking the club up into chapters, based on local, within the club. I think it is good to have tight knit groups in the close area to wheel with, wrench with, and generally hang out with. Then when the club as whole gets together as one, the local chapters could push their members to get involved and represent their chapter within the group. Plus having a local chapter would give people would don't have someone to wheel with more of chance to get out and wheel people who know about their area. Just an idea. Not even sure what Joe would think. What do you all think?

I think what you are suggesting already happens to some extent. Flagstaff members tend to do runs with people that live in the area and so do Tuscon members. This happens naturally (due to location) but the good part is nobody is excluded. I am not sure what the benifit would be. One possible benifit might be that it could create a little friendly competition between chapters when it comes to cleanups and meeting attendance. I think one of the benifits of this club is that there is a huge number of members that just love to wheel and we are free to run with anyone we want. I live in the Surprise area and I have noticed that there is a group that seems to get together. This is not new and I think that there is a group of East siders that do the same. Just don't see the benifit. Just my .02 cents.

Not sure if we want to break things up. While we may benefit from knowing who is in are area we also benefit from being able to post questions to the entire group and get answers from a vast knowledge base.

What I am thinking is maybe we have a set of area threads created where we can post up threads individually or specifically for our area, like the ones lately for get togethers and meet your neighbors. This way no one leaves and we still have the knowledge base for everything, but an area on the board too for specifics in areas. Maybe that was what you were suggesting, not sure, but JMO.

That might be a great added feature to the board.

Chris, you explained what I meant better then I did. I didn't mean it as break up the club, just have a few area specific posting areas.

I don't think he wanted to break it up, but find a place for us to keep our Surpise thread rolling, but not take up so much time on the General area. Kind of just create a selection like General Discussion, but list it as Chapters or something, maybe that word is miss leading, then if something belongs to those just in that area, say a BBQ for people in your neighborhood you would have a place to post it. I think that was all he was trying to suggest.

Hey did you smell something? Smells like Chilli, but I don't see anything... :D I also get the feeling someone is watching me, but I can't see them....

Just do it over in the off topic. I have read that Surprise stuff and most of it is making fun of your jeep anyway Chris. :D

If people don't know who their neighbors are then they can just post up. There is some goofy sh*t posted all over this board. But I don't think we need to setup special sections for each town in the valley.

That is exactly what I meant. We have these huge Surprise threads, and they don't really have much to do with jeeps all the time, more less just BSing with the locals. It was just an idea.
