We went out to Box canyon on Saturday and I got to show my out of town guest a good time out on the trails. Here are a couple of pictures we took....

John had never been out on a trail before and was glad to get the opportunity to go out and see firsthand all Arizona has to offer. You can see where we got a little traffic jam going there in the box for a little while, someone broke a hub and no-one could pass through for about an hour or so while he fixed it. Talked to some fellow jeepers during the wait (feeling a little guilty) and I brought up the land issues to them and explained what was happening and how they might be able to get involved. I guess sometimes we just need to spread the message by word of mouth as not everyone reads our site. It was a overall good day to show someone around the trail, and I'm glad I got to take him out before he left. Stopped by Mikes to pick up some parts and get a run-down of the meeting on my way back through town, and found out we had a great showing down at the meeting. Many thanks to those of you who went on behalf of EVERYONE who uses those trails......I will certainly not miss the next one.

Great looking trip man. Who broke the hub? Was it one of the Jeeps or one of the Land Cruisers?

It was a huge jeep, He must've been carrying spare parts though because he got it fixed quick..

Nice, good thing they were prepared. I'm glad you and your friends had a good time. Maybe next time I'll come out and play too, I love that area. Too bad it's an hour and a half from my house:mad:

gotta give you props for bringin up the land issues to some that might not have otherwise known. I never knew there were such issues till i got here. Looks like that trail gets stacked quite a bit? or is it just that area. Im going to have to get out there someday.

I've noticed stacking in three areas, one in the Box Canyon (big rock, 33" and SWB can just clear it, a stock jeep needs to put a tire on the east side and straddle to clear.) The other is the third picture Jamie had in his post - and without those rocks I can't clear the obstacle in my Unlimited with 31" tires. The 3rd area doesn't really count, the ledge just before/after the Coke Ovens.

No doubt there are others, but those are the ones I see in may forays into the area. Can't do the 4.0+ trails, so can't speak about 'em.
