Not having seen this before - what's the problem with running a stock Jeep through the tunnel?

I'm looking for a leader and a few other people to run the trail. I have been thru it once (stock). Now I am lifted. I have a couple of other guys interested, one is lifted and the other is stock. The only issue I know of is going thru the tunnel for the stock jeep. If anyone can and wants to help LEAD A GROUP THRU GAS PIPELINE please let me know.
Thanks, Jimmy

The tunnel has a ledge that a stocker might have trouble negotiating. However, this past 12 months it has been almost completely filled in with rocks. Someone went to a lot of trouble to effectively pave it -- maybe the ranchers who use the area or the beekeepers, or who knows?
That's really the only obstacle on the entire run. There is a hill that is kind of steep but not very bad at all, and a stock rig probably has the advantage there due to lower CoG. Coming back from Rock Springs through Black Canyon (the canyon, not the town) is kind of fun because it is scenic and follows the canyon. Again, stock rigs will do fine and no need for anything other than good driving skills. Watch for horseback riders and keep your distance!

I stopped and talked to the guy that runs the Hummer tours in the area. He said that the gas company keeps that maintained so their trucks can get through (after all it is the gas line road). They come through once or twice a year and stack them high. I'm sure they curse the people who knock them down the rest of the year :). This is one area where "rock stacking" makes sense.
This is a great trail to expose people to wheeling or just to have an easy day out when the weather is good. Stockers should have no problem except for the ledge, and that shouldn't be too bad either. A friend of mine actually rode with a guy who rolled a Blazer on this trail. Moral of the story...Never try to do a u-turn on a steep hill  and scream like hell at the driver if he starts to do it.
I would be happy to join if it ends up being a monday run. Sunday I will be brewing beer all afternoon.

That makes a (ahem) "pile" of sense. I figured someone other than a wheeler was purposefully stacking them because one day I looked at it and I am pretty sure I could have driven my Accord up it -- it was nicely done.
So, that's an area that should NOT be unstacked since it is first and foremost an access road for service vehicles. Good suff.

Yikes. Well, lots of people turn uphill when they get tippy which is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing. I have seen this on VJC runs I have been on....
You typically always turn the direction of the flop, turning into it transfers weight the opposite direction.
There's a great Wheeling 101 article on the web somewhere...I will try and find it. Maybe you can pass it along to youtr buddy. It'd be good for anyone to review.

Thanks for the answer! Sorry for the dual posts - but my PC just hung up after I posted both times.
I've seen the tunnel - was there a year ago with one of my sons, geocaching and doing a bit of wheeling. Lots of fun bits in the area. I seem to remember that we went the wrong way first, and then had to find a way across to the tunnel.
I'm up for following - I never driven the whole road, and there are a couple of geocaches along the way that I'd like to log.

That's a fun little run. The trip I was on did not have any issues even though we did not complete the full trail. The hill mentioned before has a bypass, and the stacking mentioned is a piece of cake. In fact, we ran into a couple of photographers who missplaced themselves looking for a hotel ruin. Iselljeeps helped them find it using GPS and we all explored the washes and trails surrounding trying to find it. They had a stock cherokee and made it without issue. Lots of fun to be had. Even got buzzed by a helicopter doing inspections of the powerlines in the area.

I might be down for a Sunday afternoon trip. I'm a geocacher too, so wouldn't mind a couple extra stops along the route.

Rock Tease  J/K man. It's probably better since I'll have a tire carrier to put on Sunday along with some other modification involving a cutting wheel :D
