Welcome aboard!

If you don't mind, I'm going to edit your post so that the bumper shows as a picture in the post rather than as an attachment.

The bumper looks decent, especially the way it is close to the tub. It is hard to tell but those shackles do not look like they'd be up to pulling on very hard for recovery purposes. Have they been tested on a wedged in rig? What is the rating?

They have been tested by alot of jeep guys and no one has been able to break them, they are 1/2 in (U.S.made) rings bolted on with 1/2 bolts

I too like how close it is to the tub. Unfortunately that's one of the reservations I had about the one I just installed. Mine has enough room for a Jerry can behind the tire and I don't really like the rear tire hanging back that far. Not only does it shift the CG back, but also increases the chances of having the spare drag...especially a larger one. Anyway, back on topic here, I like it. I too am somewhat skeptical about those d-rings. Technically as long as the rings stay together, the straps don't bend, and there's sufficient metal behind the bumper so the bolts don't either pull through or bend it up it will hold (the 1/2" of course are sturdy enough).

How thick is the steel? (steel thickness of bumper and carrier please) What type/size of pivot do you use?

Tuffbumpers

The bumper is built out of 1/8 thick steel,we use a linch pin to latch the system, the pivot we use is 1 1/2 x 1/8 wall tubing that fits into a 1 3/4 .120wall tubing sleeve that is welded through the bumper top & bottom

I would put some 1/4" (at least) gussets between the reciever tube and the plate, if you put holes in the gussets a person could use them for safety chain hook ups too. But other than that, it is a nice looking bumper.

BTW - *** are all the cables going into the bottom of the tire? and the lock at the bottom left? If it is what I think it is, you might want to take another pic without it there.

Wasn't a "thief" with me, but definitely does not live up to his word. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere if you are looking for a bumper. The quality of his bumpers is OK, but his business practices leave much to be desired.

The day I started that last thread he contacted me. Assured me he was gonna take care of it. I felt he would ,and then suggested to the moderator that if he wanted to remove the thread go ahead. Anyways, haven't heard a thing since. So I am back to bashing.

From a vendor's standpoint, I prefer to handle things between myself and said customer. Out of the public eye. Why, you ask..?? Because the deal/sale/purchase would be between myself and the customer. Not the public eye.. I feel if the customer is treated right, and if said situation was resolved w/o incident then the customer will tell his friends ie: you, the public. But that's just me.. :D
