JU and ROF were up there at the same time last year. I hooked up with the ROF crowd.
Can't make it this year due to some family things that are going on. The ROF is full of jerks and I suspect the JU crowd is a not a lot different, at least many of them are on the forum.

Were heading up the week before easter jeep madness. I've had enough with sitting and waiting all day to get nowhere. The week before has been a great time for us to go. We like to be there when all the vendors and jeepers show up. Then we leave. Plus it's half the price to stay. Right now we have a group of 10 jeeps going. Some from here and some from the Oregon Bushackers.
46 days to go.

Agreed.
EJS wasn't too bad last year and it wasn't overcrowded. The main problem was the drunken idiots at night racing back and forth through the main drag. The cops were pulling them over one right after the other.
It really went to hell when Don and his wife showed up in a Hummer!!! :D

I'm not a big contributor on JU, but the bunch that shows up every year at the JU event in Moab are top notch! If you dont like JU, thats your opinion, but the guys and gals that wheel up there are ok in my book. we usually wheel in our on group cuz we get to the City Market too late most mornings to go with them. There are usually only about 40 or so that show up and the POT LUCK can be kick *** with the prizes.

I met the local Law Enforcer and he told me they did 111 DUIs that week. In fact he said in an off-hand way that EJS put more money into the city coffers than anything else. At firs they didn't want us there until they say how much money they were raking in from various fines.:D
At least, our Hummer wan't pulling my Jeep:D

I haven't wheeled with them so I don't know for sure.
I would say that most of the jerks on line, reguardless of the forum, rarely showup anywhere to wheel. Most likely they don't even have a rig, at best they are mall wheelers and at worst they are web wheelers.
I post often on several of the forums and I can tell you the attacks are not only frequent, but extreme in their posts. If you read my posts here, especialy the trip reports and installs you read what they read.

No doubt. If that were the case, I'd be wheelin with allot less of this group. Once you get them out on the trail. The chest pumping generally stops. In most cases. Here on the puter, everyone has an opinion, and there always right. Allot of JU guys are on this list. You'd be surprised who some are. All upstanding and very knowledgable folks.
There are bone heads here, there, everywhere. It goes with the territory.

Don, you probably would be wrong for the most part if you think that those attending the JU run are jerks. I've been wheelin' with the group for 6 years now and those that attend are some of the best folks I've shared a trail with. Sorry you feel that way about them. I never considered my friends to be jerks.

Now Stu you know I was refering to 'at least many of them are on the forum.' and 'I would say that most of the jerks on line, reguardless of the forum, rarely showup anywhere to wheel'. Nor at any time have I said your friends are jerks. You have a bad day at work?? I haven't met too many on the trail that were jerks, but the forum(s) are loaded with them. I have never seen so much: Hate, envy, jealously, lies, name calling and overall disgusting behavior from a group in my life and I have been a member of more than one down the highway of life.
Outside of of a very few individuals, the AZVJC is the best with the Lone Star Jeep Club second best of all the groups I have traveled in.
Granted there are always a few jerks, no matter where you go and it has also been my experience that the bigger the jerk the less likely they are to show up on the trail and the less likey they are to own a Jeep.
In fact for as long as you have been on, I am surprised you wouldn't agree. I also know you pay attention to detail and am surprised you misquoted me.

I was responding to your post. If I misquoted you, then I obviously did not understand what you were implying. You said that JU and ROF were at Moab the same time last year. You hooked up wtih the ROF crowd. You then said the ROF is full of jerks and you suspect hte JU crowed is not a lot different.
I took your comment to mean that this was your impression based on your wheelin' with ROF last year.
Based on Antman's response, he seems to have gotten the same message as I did.
As you say that is not what you meant, then I appologize for not understanding what you were saying.
And no, I didn't have a bad day at work as I don't work on Monday's. ;)
