Well it's going on 2:45am and I'm still wide awake.
I'm going to say I'm probably not going to show now as by the time I'm supposed to leave here, I'm probably going to be passing out. :(
This sucks... another night of insomina has killed a day of wheeling for me.
Take plenty of pics!!! :) I'll get there at some point. *sigh*

Folks, don't mean to be critical, but we ran Box Canyon on Saturday and I would think it rates a "Moderate" trail run description. It's rated 3.0, and the way trails are now divided, this thread should have gone in the "Moderate (2.5-3.5)" trails section.
No big deal, just thinking ahead for future postings, and possibly this one should be moved to that forum.
I do like the way we can divide our trips into the different difficulty levels. This really helps me and I'm sure many other folks.

I've posted some of the pics my wife and I took on the run Monday. Rather than post them here, I used my webshots account.
You should be able to view them at:
http://community.webshots.com/user/azkiteflyer
Select the Martinez Canyon to Coke Ovens to Box Canyon album and you can view them to your hearts content. As always, if you see a shot that you would like, drop me a line and I'll send you the original file via email. I take them at 8 megapixels, and they make great 8x10s.
I even included a sunset shot for Jamie! (sorry to hear about the insomnia, I do the same thing from time to time - and it usually piles up and grabs me at the most inopportune times...)

Sorry I took so long getting a trip report together but I was very busy at work and I just got home. Anyway I just wanted to thank everybody for coming out on the run Monday. We had a total of 15 Jeeps show up for the run. It was a long day but I think everybody had a good time especially Bob and his wife Joan from New York. It was great meeting you guys and sorry our dinner plans didn’t work out. Hopefully we will meet again someday.
We started off by leaving the meeting spot at 9:30 A.M. and proceeded to the cabins. Indy was running late and was able to catch up with us, although I think a Desert Tortoise could have caught up with us with the amount of jeeps we had. :D We made a few stops on the way for photo ops and visited the old Stage Depot. We eventually made it to the cabins at around 12:00 P.M. where we ate lunch and explored the surrounding area. We then headed for the Coke Ovens and as we were traversing through the Boulder garden past the cabins, Lee donated some paint from his fender to that one rock that likes to reach out and grab you if your not careful. Amazingly that was the only carnage of the day.
We got about half way to the Coke Ovens and John, my Tail Gunner had to call it a day and head home along with, I think Kyle. Dan Sherman took the Tail Gunner slot and we proceeded to the ovens. It was getting late so we made a quick stop at the ovens and then headed to Box Canyon. On the way out we had a little fun climbing the step which I think rejuvenated everybody a little. Indy had a little trouble getting up so we had to help him up with a strap. By the time we got to Box Canyon the sun was setting and it was getting pretty dark. We continued through Box canyon, which was kind of cool in the dark. We all made it through with no problems and headed towards Florence. We aired back up, said our good byes and headed home.
Stay tuned for some pics!
