About a year and a half ago, I ordered some Corbeau seats when I was at the Off Road Show in Pomona, Ca. Corbeau had a booth there and Nate, a representative was working the show for Corbeau and sold me a set of seats to fit my ’03 TJ.
The seats were black vinyl and cloth to go with the black and red color scheme. I’ll admit, the sun here in Phoenix is savage and I only have my doors on a few months of the year, but my top is always on to keep the savage sun from beating down like a out of control weed whacker. Moreover, my Jeep, like most lifted rigs causes me to hop in to clear the side bolsters on the seats. I’m sure that causes a lot of wear on the side bolsters.
I noticed that the stitching on the top of the side bolster on the seat had come lose and so had the internal foam that supported it. That and the seats had faded to a blue color instead of black. Overall it was not looking too good.
I decided to contact Corbeau and I wrote the following:
“I ordered Corbeau seats [VX2000] 15 Nov 2004. Invoice # 37488,
sold by Nate. I am having some issues. The seats have faded from black to
blue? The drivers lowers outside seat bolster has worn out, the stitching
has come loose and the vinyl has worn thru. Moreover, the internal foam has also come lose. I can send fotos.”
Corbeau, Nate, responded within a few hours and asked for the fotos. I took four and sent them to Nate again he responded within a few hours. He replied ‘Corbeau will send you some new seats, but you should get some covers for them since you leave the doors off all the time.’
I had to read the e-mail twice as I could hardly believe my eyes. ‘Corbeau will send you new seats’. Incredible!
No long drawn out ‘let me ask the boss’ or ‘please contact warranty service for problems’. Response from Corbeau, Nate, was always within a couple of hours at the most. I didn’t have to go down and have the seats looked at by some 19 year old kid making minimum wage or worse, some jerk with cheap whiskey on his breath who had to dry hump his wife that morning.
Bottom line: I cannot say enough about Corbeau customer service. They make a quality product and stand behind it with no if ands or buts. If your considering replacement seats for your rig, then check out their product line.
Perhaps, it helped that I didn’t use a negative paragraph to describe my seats, their company and how I was gonna get’um if they didn’t fix my problem.
Check them out, they are a stand-up outfit: http://www.corbeau.com/index.shtml
