I finished my homebuilt tube fenders!!!:D

I used 3/4 OD tubing, and 1/8th inch plate for the sides.

Used a HF tube bender, many cutoff blades on my grinder, the old faithful Sawzall, and my stick welder.
I've posted pics below, the most important part was a big sheet of cardboard to model the peices before I cut.
Total cost about $180 bucks after paint, steel, welding rod and mistakes that meant I had to start over. The passenger side went much faster. I will probably redo the paint job as I learn how to do a better job on the finish. (Thanks TC!)
Aside from learning how to weld the thin stuff, it's not that difficult a job. My sons now want both of theirs done, so I'll now how to do a YJ next!

Looks good... I think I am getting ready to build a set myself...

Except I am going to try to follow the line along the side of the hood to open up even more space in the wheel well...

I don't know that I want to get into production. You might want to see them in person.
I'll be off this weekend, working on a house project. You could check'em out then.:)

Is the process loud? I have some neighbors I wouldn't mind annoying... :D

I would love to check them out this weekend, I will be home working on my rig, but am sure I could find some time to swing over and check them out. I will PM my number to you.

Hey Jeeplife, if you look in the blue strip at the top of each post, it will tell you when that post was made. :) jeepnut7261 hasn't posted here since January...
Desert Fab. does good tube fenders, just the way you want them. The catch is that you have to be here in AZ. to get them done. My Jeep has Poison Spyder tube fenders, I like them. You can find more about them here:
