Due to the parking lot that was US 60, we missed our Highway to Hell group.

We instead ran the Ajax and Woodpecker loops and did the various fun obstacles along the way including a few that I had never tried before. We did not do Fire Hole since we were alone.

We ran the trails quickly which was easy with just one rig so didn't get a lot of wheeling pics really. We took pictures of the petroglyphs and someof the variuos ruins out there off the beaten paths.

We also ran Bad Medince. :D

Here's the run-down:

These were mostly taken by my friend Tony who was piloting the biatch seat. He wheels but not of the crawling variety (yet).

Dunno where this is -- I forget. Tony liked the flex.

Dunno where this is either. It was a nice little climb for which of course the picture does not do justice.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/FJSomewhere02.JPG

Somewhere along Bad Medicine. Tony thought the obstacle would be tough. "How the hell are you going to get through there?"
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM01.JPG

I thought it would be a good demo of the stickiness of the Creepy's on the pass rear.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM02.JPG

It wasn't tough of course. He needs to ride through Fire Hole sometime. :=)

Part deux is next.

Part Deux

So, okay. This was serious searching time. No BS. No ego. No nonsense.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM04.JPG

This is not an obstacle to be trifled with, especially in a street driven rig.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM05.JPG

I have seen buggies get into trouble here too.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM05-1.JPG

But, then again, you only die once. :D
Seriously, I was quite sure I could get through it. I was in the right mood, the rig has been working well, and I knew at least one line that could make it happen.

Got a little tippy here. This shot was taken as I am bringing it back down to earth. Too bad there aren't more pics but the long and short of it is we wiggled it around and made it point the right way. Limiting (which I normally have) would have helped a lot here.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM06.JPG

And after that just crawled right on through taking a high line on the driver side wall to avoid the pass side Jeep-eating boulder, using it as a pivot point on the rockers.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM07.JPG

Crawling over the rocks at the top.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM08.JPG

Some more crawling over the rocks at the top.
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM09.JPG

An example of suspension unloading. Somewhere the bolt holding my limit straps broke so I drove BM without them. It worked okay with only a few situations (the bottom of the BM fall for one) where it unloaded. This is probably where the drag link bent the pass side sway bar mount. To look at it you wouldn't think it possible...
http://members.cox.net/xfallen/BM10.JPG

That's about it.

For anyone thinking of doing B, there is almost no way to get through without body damage of some sort. I used the Warn rockers, Monkeybars doors and Poison Spyder tub armor more than a few times.

We also took pictures of a bunch of petroglyphs and other various ruins out there.

That is some good looking stuff, I haven't done those so I need to put those on my must do list...

If that appeals, you may wish to also consider Overdose, Bad Medicine and Highway to Hell. Elvis and Axle Alley might be fun little jaunts too. Maybe you have done some or all of those already. It is more than a bit of a hike for us up here in the North Valley but I enjoy the change of scenery. There's also lots of mines and ruins to enjoy for something a bit more laid back.

JeepDiva (Dale) and her crew will be here in AZ from CO on a wheelin' holiday. They are all built to rock. Part of their plans will include these types of trails in the FJ area as well as similar trails (even tougher ones) in the TM area. Watch for their posts as I think Dale indicated she'd post up trips in advance.

I have done Ajax, and martinez cabin including the trail on the backside, but my trips have been limited down there. I have seen here posts and might hook up with them while they are here...

First pic could be anywhere along Woodpecker or Ajax.
The second shot is the rock outcropping by the wall on UW.

Nice shots on BM. I want to run that trail again and hit Overdose while there.
Too bad I have to work or I'd join Dale and her crew.

I thought that is where it was. I remember complaining to Tony that he didn't get any shots of the rig coming up.

It's a blast. There are several challengng obstacles that don't look like much until you are into them.

I would be up for OD/BM combo sometime. They are right close together and make a natural 1-2 trip combo.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. BM is one of my favorites. Especially the last part of the trail.

Hey, my ears are burning here. :D

Actually, we'll be there in time for some Sunday wheeling, 2/5. xFallen mentioned if we did a "fun" trail, he'd join us. How about a BM/OD combination...fun enough for you guys to join us?

Those are both good. I will most likely be winching up the big fall on OD but that's cool.

How is everyone doing? I am new to the board and just wanted to introduce myself. I am Travis. I have a poorly built non-rememberable TJ and need some advice of how to make Bill remember me.... Can anyone help? :D ;)

 Fawk, It's really no fun pickin' on someone if they aren't going to get the joke...

Let me see.... Quote = Travis on Judgement Day "Gee Bill, (Big Smile here) your kindof a Smartass" end Quote

Now, how on EARTH could I forget you after that, and even if I could, I'd ALWAYS remember you as the guy who said he has trouble keeping one woman and 2 Jeeps happy...

It's just that you haven't been around lately, dood...
