Pull up a seat and enjoy.
Not long ago in a park, not unlike the one near you, there was a duck born to a small duck family. Mamma and Papa duck named the duck Bill. Bill was a happy little duck that hadn’t a care in the world.
One day while Bill was over at stinky the skunks den on a play date, Bill’s family disappeared. Some say it was a hunter. Others say it was one of the predators looking for a snack. Either way Bill was alone.
The animals of the park came together late one night to decide the fate of Bill. They argued into the night looking at the situation from every angle. Near sunrise the animals decided that they would come together and raise Bill the duck as a child in a village.
Bill was excided to learn that he now had a bunch of parents to replace the two he lost. Things were going great for bill. Mother Goose taught Bill how to look for food around edge of the pond. Stinky the skunk taught Bill how to get food from people in the park. It never worked as well for Bill as it did for Stinky.
When Bill was old enough to venture into the Pond for the first time it became the talk of the pond… Bill couldn’t swim. Bill couldn’t even float! He sank like a rock and had to be rescued by the toad family. Bill was confused. Why, being a duck, couldn’t he swim? Bill became depressed as the other animals would talk behind his back. Other younglings would call him names… Things were not going well for Bill.
One night as he sat at the edge of the pond Mother Goose happened by. She sat down next to Bill.
Bill looked up and asked “What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I swim like other animals?”
Mother Goose looked down and chose her words wisely… “Bill… You may not swim like other animals but you are still special. Mater of fact, you are more special than most. Look at what you over come in life.”
Bill felt better.
Before Mother Goose left she pulled out a small set of duck floaties. “Bill” She said. “I had the fox make these for you. These will keep you above water.”
Bill was so excited. He tried them on and then jumped in the pond. He could swim!!!
Not long after Bill got his floaties he made his way into the deep end of the pond. As soon as he had made it to the middle of the pond his foaties sprung a leak and he drown.
No one ever missed Bill and they all felt better off with out having to deal with a special duck that couldn’t swim.
Welcome to life.
