Howdy! Anyone want to lead a Sunflower Mine tomorrow? 3.5- is what the old site says, but the Wells book rates it just a teeny bit harder than Pipeline which is a 3.0 at best. So???

I would be happy to lead, based on the Wells directions, but I would much prefer if someone who has actually BEEN there before led, or at least came along. Any takers?

Time? 10? 12? Also, I have no idea where a good meet spot would be...

Pretty please? :D

I've only been on the trail once before and I was part of a group that took a slight side trip up a one way hill  I wouldn't feel comfortable out in front, but between the book and my vague memory we should do o.k. Of course if we get lost at least it will be in a scenic area.

On my previous outing we met at the junction of Bush highway and Beeline Highway then caravanned to the trail head and air down spot. If that spot would cause you to have to backtrack we can just meet at the trail start. How about 9:30am at Bush Highway/Beeline junction for who ever wants to meet there and we'll be at the trail start by 10am??

It looks like it will be faster for us to go through Payson, so I will just plan to be at the turnoff (just north of milemarker 222 on Hwy 87) by 10 AM.

CB channel 4?

Sounds good. I'll wait at the Bush/Beeline Highway for anybody coming from that direction and meet you at the turn off at 10am. Channel 4 works for me. I'll be in a khaki Unlimited.

AAAAaargh!! I have to beg off for the Sunflower trip today! I had family drop in unexpectedly late last night, and I don't think it will leave me enough daylight to try to get down there later.

Jim, I am sorry--I hope you get some other participants, and I will try again to get down to this trail. :(

No problem, things happen. No one else has posted up so I'm not sure if anyone else was planning on going. I'm going to be heading out in a little bit and will stick to the plan just in case anybody else reading this wants to go.
