OK Gang, talk to me,
After a couple years of being cheap I finnaly got my b&tt in a sling two weeks ago and it took me about an hour + to get out... Got a good workout from my hi-lift though... I am finally getting a winch...I was sure my wife had one under the Christmas tree, (oh well, I needed a table saw too)...I missed out on 4wheelers sale on Christmas eve, I was there, just didn't do much...
So the question is. Warn 8000 @ $600 or Mile Marker 8000 @ $400 ???
I have bought everything since my jeep was new at 4Wheelers...My opinion, best shop in the Valley and best attitude towards it's customers... This means a lot to me...So lets hear it, hardware to hardware, is there $200 difference??

I have the MileMarker 8500 and for the few times I have used it... it worked well. It does not have the fastest line speed but for the $$$ difference between mine and a Warn... I decided to pocket the $$$ and spend it on other upgrades. I just don't use it enough to care about it being 'the fastest' or 'strongest'.
I get stuck. It pulls me out. I go home.

my mile marker 12klb was only like 700... it is only a bit more, but who can argue with 12k lbs?

I've had Ramsey 8000k, Mile Marker 8500K and installed a Costco Champion 8000k
Ramsey never failed. :)
Mile Marker hasn't been used yet. sure looks good on my TJ though.. :D
Costco special looks just like the Mile marker. It is a made in China unit so I'm not sure if the windings are copper or brass. But for the money and if you rarely ever use the unit.. Smokin deal.. comes with fair lead, winch plate, snatch block and a D-ring.
Take a close look at what trails you are going to run and make a firm decision on the winch you want.. Then run with it.. either way you'll have a winch when you need it.. There is an old saying though.. You get what you pay for.

The Costco I frequent doesn't have the winch. Where is the box that has it located?
Has anybody done any serious research on it? I have never heard of or seen a Champion winch in any ads or reviews of winches. All the buildups I've read never even mention that name as a consideration.

A friend of mine bought the Champion Winch and we Put it on his rig 2 days ago. We ran from Lake pleasant to Crown King today. We had a jeep with a Locker problem and it worked great. The Kit comes with everything you need, even the mounting plate. The only drawback we can see with it so far, is the controler seems a little on the cheap side. For the First time out it worked well, we will see how it stands up. If I could find a Costco that still has them I would buy one. In my opinion you can't beat the price.
Just my thoughts
Hope this helps

WOW that's cheap!!! Very attractive! $299 for 7500lbs right? That's sweet. One thing though, 4000lbs is ~ 8.2 feet a min...is that kind of slow or average?

When I was asking about buying a winch, most everyone was preaching Warn. I did quite a bit of checking around and wound up buying a 8000# Milemarker. I've had it on 2 rigs, my 76 CJ and now my 94 XJ. I've yet to have to use it to pull myself or anyone else. I guess it boils down to how much you have to use it. If I did the kind of wheeling where it was going to be in constant use I might have reconsidered but with what I do, I think the Milemarker has done excellent!! :D :D :D
