We got back to the Creek mon.before noon and just want to thank the guys & girls from the rim area. They made this New Year's weekend a special one for us. On short notice TC & Donna; Antman & Diane and Walt met us for breakfast and then took Kathy & I on the Pyeatte Draw run.

We did not arrive in Payson until after dark, called TC and he & Donna met us at the Home Depot to lead us to the campsite at the draw. When their truck would not start at the Depot we went back to their place and picked up their jeep. They drove us all the way out to the draw campsite and then returned to the Depot to deal with their truck. I think we need to ask Donna what the final outcome was on the truck problem. A holiday weekend, truck problems and they still managed to lead us on a run the next day. I can't say enough about the hospitality we received this weekend. Everybody was great even though they probably had other things to do on this holiday.

We did not go past the first big waterfall and walked to the second larger waterfall. They probably thought I would break something and we would be there all day and there was no way I would attempt the second waterfall. I guess that means we will just have to go back and do it again, it is a beautiful place with rocks that are amazing and Walt and Bill gave me some pointers on how to get over them. After a lunch break everyone headed home and TC & Donna took us back to our camp. Before heading in to pick up their truck at the garage Donna gave us some maps and directions for places to see in the area.

The weather was fantastic the whole weekend and we enjoyed a quiet New Year's eve dinner under the stars in the middle of the forest, just the two of us and we never did make it to midnight.;)

Sunday we took a forest road to the Cracker Jack Mine, again some beautiful scenery, stopped to see some ruins, stopped at Pine and spent another beautiful night under the stars.

We didn't take many pictures but a few are posted below.

Again we want to thank TC & Donna, Bill & Diane and Walt for showing us a great time this New Year's weekend. We hope all of you have a great New Year and hope to see you all again on the trail (maybe the next Cracks run).

Ask him what happens when your winch is pulled so tight it wont go anymore and then with your wheels cut so all the weight is on the left front, your try to back up with a 140 to one gear ratio! BLAAA-LOOEY!! Somethings got to give! Nick had his XJ so HUNG on the second waterfall, even DM's 12,000 winch and 140 to one ratio gears couldnt move him.
